This company is a prime example that if you keep it in the family you’ll succeed. Everyone from the daily cleaners to management are internally hired within one specific family. On top of the clear favouritism at play, Management brings their children in to run around, scream and make it impossible to complete tasks. 

I was with the company for a month a few months at most and felt like I was in a sinking ship, suffocating from the tense office culture that is created by the negative attitudes of the Toronto Management VS the Windsor Staff. Sure there’s place for friendly competition or stressful work environments, but when you don’t have daily support from those you think you can trust it makes you hate walking into work. 

Lastly it’s a comedy routine, smashing glass for good luck, inappropriate comments made by Management towards staff’s appearance and clothing, and the incense that is burning daily makes the work day incredibly unbearable.

Excellent environment to develop and grow a career, many employee advantages.Everyday is different depending on the project, but there are always good opportunities to learn and room to grow. Hard working and skilled roofers to work with.

The environment is friendly, people spend their time in getting things done as a team, When suggesting different ways of doing things, suggestions are considered in a respectful way.We plan our work and get it done.

Management and Co Workers are very friendly. 

ALL the Women  working in the office are hard working , talented and one of company's biggest strength.

If you have passion to learn and the commitment to put in the effort  Empire is the place to be.

Overall it slowly ate my soul from the inside out, destroying the small hope of a promising career in an uncertain future but the reviews are true! 
Very imbalanced dynamics between staff, admin and management, and absolutely no concern for labour beyond necessity to perform the motions forgotten about to keep the stinking ship going. I applaud my cohorts that continue, the benefits and food are fun and great but please don't have self-respect or flaws that money can easily solve.  


my day started at 6:00 am.There is no typical day in roofing. Learned all aspects of slope roofing,site safety and materials received and removed. Loved my boss he was always there when needed.As a foreman\supervisor I can't really have co-workers,only workers.Hardest part of day was getting workers up to task(morning excuses or not answering phone thereby altering daily plan). A job well done is always the best part, if the home-owner is happy the Big boss is happy.

Been working at Empire Roofing for  years and have always had the opportunity given to me to advance and grow as an employee. 

Empire Roofing provides  growth, training and job securement. 

The company is growing and always encouraging its employees and there to support them with their goals. 

They take safety very serious!  You really feel like they care about their employees and their safety.

I worked there for a year and worked closely with upper management Unfortunately my wife got cancer and I asked for the day off to take her for her first Kemo Treatment and I was told if I take a day off dont come back, Thats one example how they treat their employees .I was on call 24/7 , never missed a day of work,

This company rifles through employees like no other. Make sure you have a work agreement signed with iron clad expectations. 
Interview the company and review what questions you should ask before taking a role. Also, make sure you ask others who worked there why they left. Better to be safe than sorry.

These people hired me and I worked a week, then they didn't call me with my schedule. They kept saying there was no work, but all my friends kept getting hours. I asked why I wasn't and they claimed that I just wasn't right for "this job". Foremen are dumb as a brick, unsafe working conditions, no tie offs, I was a roofer for years with other companies and the disrespect I felt here is the worst in the city

Even if you work for 10 years, they won't make any effort to teach you anything. If one of your coworkers wants to teach you, you can learn, but otherwise, the company has no policy of making you a master of your craft. While you can become a master of your craft after working for 2 years in any construction job, at this company, after 2 years, you are doing the same job as someone who just started
