Worked with this excuse of a company for over 7 years. Should’ve found better when I had the chance. Supervisors regularly tell employees to overfile their hours and go into overtime. Impossible to switch into another department because if you’re a good employee your department supervisor will usually intervene and communicate with the other supervisor making sure you’re unable to switch. If you’re trustable enough supervisors come visit maybe once every month to check on the site and your work. Do yourself a favour and work for a decent company that cares for its employees. I dedicated my heart out to this company and I got an email, not even a verbal communication of my lay off. Pathetic management and pathetic company.

As a part of the  Drilling Supervisor for all the projects   was responsible for the organization and supervision of the following activities: drill rig using geotechnical drilling operations and collection of soil samples for laboratory testing; installation of monitoring wells characterization of soil samples; handhole sampling and augering for construction and geotechnical investigations
i enjoy work every  project because every day i learned new things 
also with my co-workers i never feel hardest part of my work because i believe team work very important to my work place or project.

Always busy in the laboratory and field works. Sometime working alone sometimes working as a team with other person from different cultures. We did concrete testing continuously (every concrete mixer truck) the whole day as per required by the clients and returned back to office when done. Our lab. manager is giving us schedule through deputy apps so we can prepare prior to the field works with length of time and we do lab works during available time.

This is a good place to work if you like a job that is super chill. They give you a truck or pay your gas. Management is outstanding. The hours are long but you get tons of overtime. The work is on site but you don't have to be there the whole time, you can bounce around from site to site or runs some errands or something. The work isn't really hard, a decent amount of writing as everythings old school, writen on paper. 
I'd say this a good place to start your career. 

Englobe taught their employees well and trust them to take the initiative and conduct individual work. Overall it was a good company.
Workplace is stressful at times and easygoing in other times (depends on workload). Most enjoyable part is meeting new people everyday, and work travel. Least enjoyable was time sheet as it is difficult to place projects in 30 min intervals. Sometimes there was  miscommunication with management but this did not impact myself too much.

Englobe has interesting work opportunities that spans across Canada and sometimes overseas. Depending on who you get as a team leader you may enjoy your time there.

Moving up in the company is a challenge, especially if you are not based in the headquarters, Quebec City. 

Salaries are slightly below the average you could expect in the industry.

Benefits cost a lot off of your regular paycheque.

Good place to gain some technical, in the field experience.  Good for a junior engineer especially and people wanting to obtain certificates in technical knowledge like cathodic protection, coatings, and welding.

High turnover

The company has a lot of growth potential with knowledgeable professionals. The issue is that the management talk a lot about how they value their employees without actually doing  much in reality. Poor salaries and benefits compared to standard pay in the profession. Mediocre annual raise and no bonuses even for the most hard working employees.

I enjoyed the construction work involving the Wind Farm Energy business.
Felt comfortable in the field. The short contract work never turned into anything.  I am use to big projects covering a big area and may have upset other staff  who may have felt  I was intruding in their territory.


This company is great. I appreciate every moment working here. But it may not be for everyone. The work we did was remote, in camp, and there was a lot of climbing to reach the work place. But I lost weight and got a good tan. I was fed very well and got to know everyone. I wish I had stayed longer but an ear infection took me out and couldn't get back on time. I'd definitely would work with them again.
