The culture is awesome, the mission fulfilling. The job was not difficult. If you know someone, and hope to advance, you are "in like Flynn". Within six months of beginning employment, I beheld people go from data entry to team lead. Flip side of that coin? If you don't know "someone", please don't hold your breath. Yes, promotion appears almost wholly based initially on favoritism. Benefits are waning severely, especially the past three years. Quarterly questionnaires go out to employees, asking what needs to be changed and improved. Management made it clear no matter how much employees want or need, pay increases WILL NOT be a consideration (UNLESS YOU KNOW SOMEONE).So they give verbal pats on the back, and have management learning names and saying hello, in place of increased wages..This alone helped me go elsewhere, as, despite my Engie work experience, and previous  MANY years experience in customer service field, it took me more than seven years to make, at Engie, what my previous employer was paying me when I was laid off due to economy.
Entry level pay, though, I don't think can be beat in the Spokane area.
Past the initial year, poor, poor less than the cost of living in most cases, pay increases (again, unless of course you are in the "in" crowd).
Start here, don't stay here...unless YOU KNOW SOMEONE :)

Not a very good experience working for this company unfortunately

Low wages with minimum hrs on you  weekly  schedule with long travel to work location with travel pay of any kind.

Very negative towards people on the tools working for them

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very poorly organized with poor safety culture

This job at times can be physically demanding but having such good co-workers who create a stress free atmosphere makes the tasks easier mentally and physically. The management is also really supportive and understanding in terms of helping you with school and your life outside of the workplace. It is a very good student jobs as it teaches you teamwork and discipline.

stay away, no funding, no training, no progression, slack staff, bad management, lazy ones not dealt with by management as to scared, scared of people underneath them who are good and progressing, even the staff continuously moan how bad it is but only some stay to pay bills. 50% have no clue what they are doing, 7 years I did finally left took the plunge, got brave enough, best thing I ever did, waste of 7 years caused nothing but stress

Culture is everything in a company. Engie has a family feel to it, both in the way it deals with employees, and with the host communities where they do business. They care to do the job right and strive to find win/win situations building relationships with all stakeholders.

Management don't listen to staff, profit over compliance issues. Very slow to do things. Management have a lack of Knowledge within Facilities Field, constant fails over KPI due to lack of knowledge.

Very dangerous company to work for due to lack of compliance testing on sites.

Dont work for them if being Tupe over

Good assets in energy sector but poor management with unqualified managers driven by superiority feelings and anger towards employees with real qualifications. No feedback from upper management on real life work issues, just pushing based on profit for company. Financial shares are a joke.

Great team, friendly and everyone always helps each other. Duties can be varied. Good pay for the role and good range of staff benefits.  Downside is that there isn’t enough staff to cover the heavy workload. Always busy and most of the time overloaded so usually struggling to keep up. 

The management in the office would undermine the foremans. The project manager and construction manager would sneak around and literally bird-dog the workers threatening if they didn’t work harder they’d lose their job. 
Every single decision that came down from that office, roadblocked is, and when the job wasn’t we were reprimanded and threatened more and more.

Engie is a great company... maybe too great to care for its simple baggage handlers. Not a career job. High turnover. Not a lot of opportunity to go up, at least when I was there. Management was terrible on the baggage handler side of things. That being said, other departments seem to have it much better. I guess i was just on the wrong "team". Not my cup of tea.
