Relationship with customers, Not on your feet all day.

Cons

Abusive and violent customers, no security, low pay, non-transferable skills, limited growth opportunites from inside the company, morale and ethical standards are low. You are trained to lie to customers. If you are a manager you are subjected to periods of up to 7 hours working completely alone without a break. You will be expected to work alone everyday for certain amounts of time. For years my store had no lock on the door and it took one of our managers being threatened with a knife for Ladbrokes to finally give us an automatic lock on the door. Not enough training to handle situations with justifiably upset customers. If you have a family and kids do not take this job unless its cashier level, hours will never be regular and you will work late.

If you are seeking consistent career advancement, progressive training, great managerial oversight, great pay and a lovely work environment, then this is not the place for you. However, you do get decent pay and if you are willing to overlook the regular oddball customers, then you may even find the job manageable. I recommend the customer service role for students as a part time job as you do learn to work in a fast paced environment, learn great cash handling skills and develop interpersonal skills through interactions with diverse demographics

Working in Ladbrokes helped me build so much confidence in myself. I started as a cashier and progressed quickly to become a customer service manager. After that there was no other way to progress in the company. 
The friends you make while working here are the reason people stay as long as they do. 
The hardest part of the job is definitely dealing with difficult customers and be able to deescalate irate situations.

really enjoyed my time at Ladbrokes in Ireland, but felt the need for a new challenge and that it was time to move on.

Working at Coral is stressful, although the team members are quiet helpful and fun loving

Hardest part of the job is helping out angry customers who are not willing to accept any resolution where as the best part of the job is working in customer facing environment.

Open shop at 7am and wait for customers to come in, had people of all classes and ages come in to the shop to bet, acted as security in the shop as I was the only male working. Dealt with different customers daily which helped me improve my customer relations.

It was a job which requires lot of computer and cash handling skills. It requires lot of presence of mind as well.

Sports company where customers put their bets and depanding upon the results of the race win/loose money.

Expect long hours, sometimes you'll be by yourself. The training provided by the manager was really good, she knew every single customer at the store. The Rota is published early. The payment was just OK, there's sometimes tips though 

Loved every day at the job as I learnt so much. Pay and benefits were great and they treat you well as an employee of Entain. Was able to collaborate and adapt quickly to the fast paced work- environment. 

A lot of interaction is involved. Everyday is a new day. Need to promote the new products to the customers.
