Escape Trailer Industries LP

Escape is both an established company, and a company going through new growth challenges.  It produces a solid, high quality product, and has recently made strides to develop more efficient processes.  Naturally there is room for improvement, in both production and management.

I learned a great deal in my job, although training was haphazard.  For example when I started I was expected to produce immediately, and training was always in catch-up mode.  But there was plenty of opportunity for hands-on, a real plus.

A highlight of my job has been interaction and rapport-building with customers.  Escape has a unique business model, one that attracts customers that prioritize customization and support.  It’s a whole culture of access from start to finish, true to their direct-to-consumer manufacturer description.

A difficult part has been trying to fit in. Corporate culture is cliquish, making the camaraderie sporadic and reserved for favourites.  This is a top-down phenomenon where management and supervision sets the tone.  Employees need to be treated with uniformity – fairly, and impartially.  Favouritism within the company often undermined that.

I was nervous starting at Escape due to the poor reviews but was pleasantly surprised with how it's run. All safety protocols are taught and PPE is provided. I feel valued as a worker. Escape Trailers has clearly made a great effort to ensure the happiness of the workers to the best of their ability. The supervisors are very friendly and easy to talk to. HR is very friendly. I like my coworkers. There seems to be this idea in some people's heads that all they care about is production. I mean sure, we are here to work, but we don't get punished if things don't fall under the typical time frame. We do the best that we can with the time that we have. I've never been with a company that follows all safety protocols and labour laws, so it has been extremely refreshing to work at Escape. Our safety is valued and they are willing to teach you how to do the job without experience. As long as you show up to work every day and come with a good can-do attitude, you will succeed at Escape Trailers. I would highly recommend a keen eye for detail, quality is important! 

My experience working at Escape was incredibly disappointing. From day one, the onboarding was disorganized, incomplete, and left me without the proper tools or information to do my job effectively. When I raised concerns or asked for clarity, I was met with avoidance instead of accountability.

Despite stepping into the role with experience and initiative, it became clear that the leadership team wasn’t prepared to support someone who noticed inconsistencies or spoke up about issues. Instead of addressing problems, they shifted blame and avoided responsibility. The entire environment felt unprofessional.

The worst moment came at the end. being let go without proper communication or explanation, and then being silently watched while I packed my things. It was disrespectful, uncomfortable, and showed a complete lack of basic human decency.

I have now worked at Escape for over a year. In this time I have met some increadable people. I was lucky enough to be placed under the supervision of one of the most patient and helpful peers I have ever had. Sure there are up and downs..but that's common in any workplace. 
I have grown and learned and excelled at everything I have tried to do. I have been recognized, assisted and welcomed.. and everyday I go to work I enjoy and look forward to every task I complete. We are a family of people who work together in this world.. we do our very very best each day. You can not ask for more than this from anyone In these times we live in.. This place provides me each day with purpose..and at least I am thankful for the people and comodery they provide. 
I have nothing bad to say.. but again that's just my opinion and to each.. their own. 

The Reception desk is a hub of activity on any given day and being a new hire from a couple months back there was so much to learn. My fellow colleague who taught me was the kindest and most patient teacher I could of ever asked for in such a challenging role. Management has an open door policy and are always so friendly. Every department that I have been in contact with are gracious with knowledge sharing and open to any help that I require from them. Certainly, the best part of the job is being the first point of contact to our potential customers which gives me the opportunity to show them how very important they are to us. Also the people I work with are so eager to share information and just a joy to work with. Escape Trailers is a place I look forward to coming back to on Monday mornings!

Escape trailers has a great product that has an amazing customer following which has required the company to grow. This has created a great opportunity for personal advancement, but has also created  typical hiccups as it grows to the next level. Over my past year of employment, I've seen many improvements to corporate culture, process improvements and working conditions to verify company is going the right way.

Would recommend to anyone wanting to work, with a decent work ethic. Someone whose looking to get their foot in the door of one of Chilliwack's larger  and faster companies

For starters, I did not last long; with my lack of experience and the push to get things done combined for a lot of mistakes; having a condescending jerk for a foreman didn't help matters. The work itself was varied which made the day go fast and the people were pretty good but it was a bit of a shock to see so many with less than a year experience. This explains hiring and training practices, which is strictly amateur hour at Escape Trailers, never seen anything like it. To hire someone, give rudimentary training and then hope they pan out is astounding. A shame as they make a decent product and could only improve efficiency if they took a deliberate approach and showed a modicum of patience.

Unprofessional, unorganized, and extremely chaotic environment. Management has zero sympathy or understanding in dealing with employees and makes no effort to provide support. When you look at the work area, there are a lot of work safe violations and accidents waiting to happen. It’s no wonder this company has a revolving door of new hires. They may produce a well built product but that’s due to a few dedicated employees, certainly nothing to do with management. The company is now in the hands of a private equity firm and they’re all about profit and nothing else. 

Work is good employees and most supers are great however they expect to much from workers when people are absent work isn’t getting completed at each stage and therefore, you are unable to properly complete your job but they keep pushing them down the line some supervisors should not be supervisors as they treat their employees like they are stupid 

Most of the problems the company has could be traced back to the people hired. Too many bring incredibly negative attitudes that not only reflects on the quality of their work, but also impact those around them. I won't say anything about the management because I have no idea on the how a company should be ran, but what I can say is that I have been treated with courtesy and respect by all the higher-ups here.
