Essilor Toronto has the worst management you can ever work for.
Poor strategies, poor organizational structure poor leadership and poor HR.
Turn over is way too high.
The internal environment is so toxic and managers/directors talk bad about each other’s on the back.
A very toxic environment which makes your work- life balance terrible.

It’s such a sad thing since company has loyal employees and worst management you can imagine 

If you don’t speak French you have little or no chance of career improvement.if you don’t agree with their decision you will be target everyday.

Pay rate is too low for the market and salary increases is super low and does not meet market standards.

Think twice before you like to pursue your career with this kind of company.
You will regret it later.

well I will describe a typical day of work at my current job is when I have two or three machines broken at the same time or simultaneously with a limited time available to get them repaired but at the end its feels good.

I have learned to respect everyone's opinions regardless to their level of mentality and points of view.
management is good especially the level of demand is quiet challenging sometimes but it feels great when goals are met on time.
work place culture is incredible.
the hardest part of the job is dealing with the management politics.
most enjoyable part of the job is when all goals are met.

Essilor is a large company with thousands of employees worldwide.  They are an industry leader in optical fabrication and distribution.  They teach their employees well and constantly.

The management is deep and segmented but diverse.

The culture is very close and cooperative.

The most challenging aspect was meeting the sales goals established with resources available.

The company offered many benefits and close connections to colleagues.

Before COVID....
This was a great place to work at. The people and management are very supportive, and you can contact HR for any issues without any judgment.

There are many support systems in place, and they even encourage extra learning/courses (as long as they were job/technology related)


over all the company was good my manager was not.
she did everything she could do to make me quit, and after a few years she finally won. As far as she was concerned nothing I di was correct, I finally discovered that she wanted me gone because she wanted to give my job to  her daughter.
I never wanted to leave because I really enjoyed working for Essilor, but I had no choice for my mental wellbeing.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Working 40 hrs per week and no weekends work. Not stressful.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When sending people home and machines are not working.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Normal and no cultured involve.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
When we do not get out target.

Began on october 5 for fews days i go to different people desk Learning them system by watching them .. but never had a real training.. sadly they need to invest in that.. otherwise the place is great.. people are amazing and good place to work.. after all

- They have an extensive benefits package and fair vacation allowances
- You will learn a lot
- Time management is important
- Corporate cares about the well-being of their staff, at the major Hubs and small subsidiary labs

Supportive management & coworker when a person needs it most, very good benefits and stock options. Nice small office so you can get to know the staff on a personal level. I would recommend working at the Calgary Lab to someone experienced or not as training would be provided.

There are better jobs out there. 
The managers are focused on output in an industry that is primarily about quality.
They extract tons of wealth from the world but give little back. They should be taxed more, especially given the environmental damage caused by the optical industry.
