What is the best part of working at the company?
Team was great, plenty of talent and experience, great people.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management- in the face of ongoing efforts to proactively communicate challenges and seek guidance, my experience was that management was inconsistent, dishonest, incapable of productive communication, like being managed by a toddler. Oscillating between nice, friendly, but largely unhelpful, and yelling, demanding, threatening. Very toxic. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hard to say- fairly flat structure as its a small company. HR exists but is very new and by observation, lacking authority. Glimmers of hope in the beginning were largely replaced by disappointment and doubt. Not an industry leader, certainly. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Like working in a call centre- hired for outside, consultative sales but company implemented a “program” across the board that requires sales persons to earn a daily quota of points for various activities- Keeping up with it is a full-time job and it’s not an effective tool to actually generate sales, so morale across the sales teams really plummeted when this was implemented; I started job seeking when it was started because I could see the writing on the wall. It totally undermined the success of sales, and then Sales was blamed for poor performance. If you want to try sales, try it somewhere that allows you to succeed or fail on your own merits- at least there is learning that way.

I was an account executive, and the new management they hired was extremely supportive and helped you take your talents and cultivated them into something productive. I did very well for the time I was there, but that's also because I am a driven sales person to begin with. You start of with a guarantee salary but after a few months you're commission only. This is fine if you push big numbers but if you're lacking in sales its going to be hard to put food on your table. With businesses crashing and lockdowns it might not be the best time to take on a career like this. But if you have what it takes the payout and support is huge. People have been at this company for years, you can expect to want to be part of these people for a while.

Management will not pay you what they say they will in your interview.  No matter what they tell you this is a commission ONLY job and it will be 6 months to a year before you start making a livable commission.  Then they ask for the previous money back, as if they loaned you your own salary.  They are quick to sue their own clients, and burn bridges with many local businesses in the community.  I watched 3 sales reps not get paid their last pay check after putting in their 2 weeks notice.  I watched 1 sales manager get promised one salary, and then upper management sent them a completely different salary ($15k lower than they were promised).  This company does not understand its value to their clients, and it shows with management's complete lack of understanding of basic marketing principles.

Although my boss has been a gentleman and has been more than patient. The radio broadcasting industry is one of the toughest sought after jobs to ever get into. Despite the passions of loyal, dedicated employees wanting so bad to work in a very exciting, fast-paced industry, owners, as well as shareholders of broadcasting companies everywhere in Canada have diminished many opportunities and they had terminated many jobs with employees working for many years. This is not only with Evanov. It is every large organization. It is too bad owners and stockholders do not want to change and keep thinking about their sheer greediness and not to invest and believe in their employees' dedications and loyalties!

Being in the radio station, on a promotion, or at an event is a truly magical experience for a street team member, one I would recommend to anyone. Learning how the radio station operated and being a part of the social media of each station allows people to feel truly valued and excited about being a part of the team. And if you like driving vans, you're in luck! 

Do not waist your time with this company,constant huge staff turnover, no appreciation and no value in personnel at all levels.
No strategic planning, no marketing ,no company structure at all, just an old man Club.
Company is going down, lack leadership, shady and sneaky upper management.

A growing media company based in Toronto Canada, the Evanov Radio Group is privately owned and therefore subject to the discretion of the owner which occasionally leads to poor decisions being made.  Advancement within the company is easy, and the ability to train on multiple paths allows for great personal growth.

I really enjoy working for this company. The management team is supportive, approachable, and genuinely cares about their employees. There is a strong focus on communication, teamwork, and respect, which creates a positive and productive work environment. I feel valued in my role and appreciated for my contributions. It’s a great place to grow professionally and be part of a team that works well together.

If you have any talent and common sense, don't burden yourself with this organization because they'll rob you of your time and worth.  No company will succeed through that much nepotism and favouritism which is why they're a sinking ship both in ratings and busine$$.

Enjoy little to no communication from management about assignments.

Interns aren't allowed to ever use chairs. Even in meetings you have to stand up.

I was told I would be given more than enough internship hours to graduate. I was given less than 10% needed over the length of months long contract.
