The "owner"
In my opinion, the owner of the company does not particularly like any of her managers, except for this one old lady, as she fires pretty much any manager after about 4 or 5 months. While I was there, she fired about 3 managers. She expects perfection when the products are over priced dollarstore hair products, the system that is used is out-of-date, and the P.O.S. machines don't even have tap. So, potential managers, if you're reading this, just don't apply here.

The Culture
The culture is, in my opinion, far from healthy because there is constant arguments amongst the workers, shade is thrown constantly about each other AND about their paying customers, and an air is mistrust lingers with you from the moment you walk in until the moment you walk out. Also, it seems like the lady that manages the locations seem to prefer older women.

The hardest part of the job, in my opinion, was trying to dance around and meeting unvocalized expectations, and even if they were met, trying to dance around the over looming sense of not being good enough has made a few employees there cry, and rather frequently. Another difficulty was trying not to report malpractice (such as if towels were washed, sometimes they would be mixed with the dirty ones; if you bring up this issue, nothing would be done).

The job is fairly simple, you clock in, count the cash, turn the lights on, make tea/coffee/etc.., and you open the doors. That's what anyone would think of as a receptionist, but once a customer comes in and expects a certain price for let's say a balayage, they should take caution as stylists FREQUENTLY add hidden charges (extra bleach, extra this or extra that), and it adds up! And, let's say you forget to add this extra charge, the stylists would frequently bully you emotionally as a result of "forgetting," and of course, if you bring this up, nothing is done about it.

Moving up?
Don't even think about a raise or even moving up the ladder. If you are a receptionist, that is all you will ever be. If you ask for a raise, it seems that you will be removed from the schedule, unless of course, you are liked by the owner. 

So much bureaucracy...
I learned that this is just a job, like any other, but the bureaucracy of the establishment is one that if you are unliked because you are less than pretty by society's standards (mainly) you will generally, in my opinion, be treated as such by the owner, and then eventually cut from the schedule, if she doesn't like you.

In my opinion, I would wish for no one to work there.

This salon helped me grow into a strong, professional stylist by providing amazing guidance and healthy work environment with high standards to follow. The space was beautiful, products were high quality, we received amazing education on hair and products, the staff i worked alongside were talented and inspiring. Enjoyed my time working for this company and wish I never relocated and had to leave. Was a overall beautiful salon, always clean and high end feeling.

Eveline Charles was a very difficult place to work. Many of my co-workers were rude and took pleasure in putting others down. Management was helpful but there was only so much they we willing and able to do. 
I attempted to stick it out and work past it but a kind and friendly workplace is what I'm looking for. Drama is not what I live for.

A great way to provide as much customer services to my clients. Hitting all my sales targets with a high re booking status.  The hardest part of my job was trying to overcome the difficulties of not having enough product to give the best service to my guest.  This was very frustrating for me.  The management was very very young and not organized in her role.

They are terrible at treating their employees wth respect. 
They cut hours without notifying the employees. 
They always push numbers at everyone. 
There is never a time where you can be realxed as they are always shadowing you and making comments about your looks and the way you act.

Enjoy working here, clients can often became challenging with patience needed but enjoy customer service.

Hired right out of cosmetology school. Basically treated like the shop maid. Laundry, cleaning, prepping, very little time spent actually learning from stylists. A few basic business functions not always great. Often hot water tank wasn't working, out of product to colour with or style/sell.

Eveline Charles was one of the worse places i worked for. Unfair, bias, and employee abuse. I worked my butt off for them and got paid nothing. I have seen my coworkers get verbally abused by management and upper management. Not a good place.

Five star rating with a two star attitude. The salary was awful and the management was worse. It was like being in high school all over again. I would never recommend working here.
