. As a server, you’re expected to be there 15 minutes before your shift for an unpaid meeting and if you are late by a minute, your scowled  the rest of your shift. Tips were good because it’s a busy restaurant, but support is lacking and caused me to have quite a bit of stress. You’re constantly walking on eggshells near the owner cause people were getting fired left right and center for no reason “just that they don’t fit with the company values anymore” - And on top of that, the staff benefits are awful. No free pop or coffee on shift, which is absurd as they pay little to nothing for this. And if you choose to buy a pop no free refill even though customers get this!!! And only 25% off staff meals not even a cheaper discount while working and you can never eat upstairs on shift not even a banana after working 8+ hours some days 

Firestone excels in many things. Overall it was a pretty good place to work, they do things to motivate employees such as employee of the month, which highlights people who are doing a really great job. However some of the kitchen staff would make very harass some of the girls, and there was a lot of gossiping and a high turnover rate. However the food was good, and if you came in with a good attitude and willing to work and do a good job you would typically not have any problems. They were pretty flexible with scheduling and good with giving you the hours you desired.

All the managers there are super entitled. BOH chef is just straight up

It’s absolutely disgusting, not to mention all the shady stuff with their payroll. Severely traumatized me from working in a restaurant…I wouldn’t recommend working here to anyone.
I’m not the only one I’ve heard other horror stories from past employees, no wonder that place has a few die hard employees and the rest are gone before they can even step foot in the door most times 

I worked there for many years and at first I loved it at the beginning but once there was change in management everything just went bad. The managers don’t care if the staff crash they just want to make money. The owners and manager treat their staff not fair and i suggest not working here. Also no breaks it’s just a gong show.

Nothing at all. They only care about themselves. You are just a number and more than replacable

The amount of allergies people come in with

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very staunch. Unless you kiss thier butts, you will not progress further within their company .

Alot of stress from start to finish

It’s a good place to work and it’s good for teaching you different skills such as how to work with different people while managing the flow of customers. It is sometimes difficult to make predictions on income based on the lack of an end time. Mandatory 15 minute unpaid shift meetings before every shift also add up.

the job is great to learn basic skills at, the people can be fun and the rotating menu is good. however I would not recommend spending more than 2 years here, as a dedicated and excited cook will get burnt out with repetition and low skill items. there is a skill celling you hit after about 6 months.

the typical work day was pretty nice, it had its stressful moments but it was a really good experience to learn from. the management was always understanding of people life situations and issues.

From the time you're hired, management ensures that you have all the tools and knowledge to succeed (that is as long as you use them). Every detail of the customer experience and the employees job is well thought out

Firestone offers a great workplace environment with a friendly staff and management with great training to set you up for success in the workplace. Great for part time while attending university or collage.
