There is so much i would like to say here but I’ll keep it short and sweet. I'm only writing to try to make a change and difference so others do not make this mistake and work for this company, unfortunately i can speak only for there Calgary location as They do also have a Milton head office, which i have not worked much there so i don’t feel like I’m in the position to  paint the entire company with one brush, the owners need to know what’s going on this is why I’m writing, they are great people and I’m sadden to have had to leave due to the current management that represent them in Calgary,  but if the owners were aware of what I’m  writing today than maybe they are not and I’m mistaken but i will give them the benefit of doubt.
  Issues the work environment is toxic, This goes for both managers that work there the Plant manager and the assistant manager. They don’t care about the well being of there staff they have unrealistic expectations, Your not allowed to make mistakes, every body throws each other under the bus.  the managers want to always be right and do not listen to our suggestions, this is definitely a sign of poor leadership. they over work you by giving the employees such as myself their work that they were hired for. I was doing the plant managers job in my position, i was doing record keeping for invoicing our third-party customers, of which the assistant managers job was original hired for and many more other additional work
the managers are not professional, they speak to you in a rude manner and speak about other employees behind there back with other employees, they create a non team environment. I have more to say but there is so much that goes on there i really apologies if i missed any vital points, but these are big points. also note that the Calgary location does not have a Human resource department. maybe they need to have an individual that keeps the managers inline as they are truly manipulating head office about what is really going on. Especially if staff keep leaving and good staff such as myself that should be a big red flag to the head office team but as I mentioned they lie to head office about what the truth is. I don’t want to mention names but i can speak on current staff and X staff members that they will agree with me about this toxic work environment created by these 2 management individuals that are currently hiding behind the wall and no one to set them straight. Everything of the success of the company was contributed to the great staff that currently work and have worked there from the beginning that put suggestions and tweaked process to make the company successful in Calgary. not the current management team but they seem to try to take all the credit. I hope a change occurs where this toxic work culture in Calgary comes to end for future individuals, if they company fresh taste really looks into there current leadership in the Calgary location and not just hear their side of story. But other individuals like myself had to leave because of this work culture. But the current management team has the courage to always say it’s the employee that have issues, maybe they need to evaluate themselves and see who has issues when someone watches them working. Unfortunately i never spoken up because i was worried for my own livelihood till i finally had enough. i can speak for some that work there that feel the same way but are scared to speak up due to the risk of work abuse and risk of losing there job.

Long story short if you're Canadian you're not staying there, A lot of new Canadians, They favor each other, Management lies and your hours are guaranteed, You'll either be sent home early or not on time. You can't refuse to stay or you won't have employment anymore, If you decide to take a position here through an agency be aware that you aren't valued and there are people that will pretend to be your friend and then try to get you fired. This happened to multiple people while I was there including myself eventually, Overall I enjoyed the job itself but the people are not great. Management in particular has favorites. They will stab you in the back for advancement, It's fast-paced and busy which makes the day go by fairly quickly. But nothing is more discouraging than getting to the end of your shift and finding out you can't leave because they want you to stay for another hour or two, There can be some difficult loads such as strawberries in particular because they're covered in plastic and you must remove the plastic and then get those pallets off the floor as fast as possible because they've already got a truck in the door waiting to be unloaded and they need that space. Removing the plastic is much more difficult than it sounds. It's heavy duty plastic used to keep temperature regulated and it's sealed onto the pallets quite well so doing it quickly isn't easy. I sort of mastered it but my work ethic wasn't valued, What was valued was what my background was and apparently why I'm not married lol

This company is one of the worst places to work, and I would strongly advise anyone against joining. Management is disorganized, unprofessional, and shows little to no concern for employee growth or well-being. Instead of offering opportunities to learn or build valuable experience, they create a toxic environment where hard work goes unnoticed and dedication is taken for granted. There is no proper training, no clear direction, and absolutely no support for career development. The culture is driven by favoritism and poor leadership rather than fairness or professionalism. Employees are often overworked, underpaid, and left feeling unappreciated. The company fails to invest in its people, making it impossible to gain meaningful skills or advance in your career. If you’re serious about your professional growth and future, avoid this place entirely. It’s simply not worth the frustration, wasted time, and negative impact on your career path.

Produce and vegetables inevitably have snakes in their midst, the kind with two legs. 

Although the premise of the job seemed easy enough, decisions were always "micro-managed" and directives always came from up top, regardless. The work culture is fed by blaming inabilities and short-comings on other people, rather than simply admitting that someone made a mistake. 

Backstabbing, nepotism and living in a world of false reality is the norm. Drama is an everyday occurrence. Crying is an everyday occurrence. False sentiments are an everyday occurrence. One day you will be told that you will be respected and treated like a family member, and the very next day, you're not sure if your livelihood is being threatened. 

I learned that even the people who you thought may have had your back, are the same ones who will be the first to throw you under the bus. 

Waste of time.

The day began at 6:00 am with first checking the daily orders and adding any new orders received by fax or phone.

Supplied information to the Warehouse Manager & Assistant Manager. Printed copies of current inventory for back up and cooler information.

Managed HR, payroll hours and employee issues.

At the end of each day the inventory levels were adjusted and sent out to the buyers for the morning calls at the market located in the Toronto Food Terminal.

Managed how many drivers were required for each days loads and worked closely with the transport company in dispatch.

The challenge was working until all the orders were out, which was not necessarily quitting time.  

Enjoyed working with a diverse crew up to approx. 50 per day in the busy season.

Management is not supportive of your goals and lacks understanding of mental health and need of work/life balance.

The pay is so low that you cannot survive off of it and they cannot keep up with the industry average.

There is so much dumb drama within all departments. Management's errors become your fault and the lack of their accountability weighs on employees. The turnover rate is extremely high but it all comes down to being the employees fault in the eyes of the owners/management. You spend more time dealing with the strains of that than your actual job but are micromanaged when you are actually doing your job.

Depressing atmosphere. No windows. Fluorescent lighting, cold. Lack of parking. Lack of positivity and friendliness amongst the entire team.

I worked in fresh taste produce for one year my experience was superb very nice environment

No stress they are just demand for best sorting and packing

Work environment is good and neat and clear warehouse they are always focusing on the cleanliness and quality

In the winters when the work is busy due the high demand of fresh fruits and vegetables

There are some great staff there.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is no HR at this company. You can be fired for any reason. They fire people due to rumor or speculation. Hours and days off  changed frequently. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There is no culture. they talk like there is but there are only favorites and non favorites

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Show up for work. Get started.  If busy barely have time for breaks or lunch.  GO home on time if you are lucky.

The work force environment is accommodating and very comfortable for all employees to perfectly disseminate their respective duties. They have hand on experienced staff, managers and supervisors who stands to motivate, guides and monitor the work-done of every employee beyond their cultural believe and languages. My 2weeks experience at Fresh Taste  Produce is one of the best I have had so far in Calgary AB., if not that my employment agency stopped me from going back to my duty.  I can solely recommend them to any one to work and  do business with them. 

FT has a serious management problem in the accounting department. he has many complaints and he is the main reason of poor employee retention. 
The team is very good they are helpful and teamwork players. The only problem is the controller who makes inappropriate comments and also he doesn't take your job seriously and won't give credit to your hardwork.
