Fas Gas Plus

A typical day would require from start to finish:
- Come in, count my tills float to make sure it was correct.
- Sign in to the machine.
- Stand behind the till and wait for customers to come in.
- If you were lucky enough to have something that needed to be done, time went by a bit quicker, but if everything was fine you would have to walk around the store and look for something to do. This might be perfect if you're proactive.
- Usually I would converse with the customers to help pass the time. A lot of them were nice people, others were unpleasant. Would say about 75% were nice to talk to.
- When closing I would sweep off the floor mats in winter because the vacuum was terrible and not a WetDry Vac. In summer I would take them outside and shake them off. Then I would sweep and mop the floors, taking any customers that would come in.

My boss was a nice guy, but a little misunderstood. Co-workers are what made the day go by faster. If you got along with the person working with you, you could spend most of the day just talking until they went home, or you did. About 2 hours of the work day, you were alone. Singing to my music was a past-time (your own music was not strictly allowed, and had to be clean or face the wrath of the owner).

Hardest part of the job was watching the clock and making sure you follow procedure when allowing people to pump gas before paying. Doing so would only make it go slower.

Most enjoyable part of the job was working with friends and seeing familiar customers.

I worked there in Fort Nelson BC.
I was mostly in the back making Sandwiches, Sub's, Salads, and Fruit Salads. Packaging, Labeling, putting the food in the coolers in the store, and taking out all the overdue food. I was also responsible for stocking the store and facing as well as cash and gas, counting the till and some cleaning.

I did not work there even a month.
I had two children 5 year old in kindergarten, and a 6 month old.
I kept having a problem finding Daycare for my children.
3 weeks into the job i finally had to quit when i was trying to get to my shift.
I went to go drop my kids off at daycare for my shift and the woman wasn't even there.She had never even called to tell me.
I had to drive to work with the kids in the car and tell them i could not work anymore because i had no daycare.
They were not surprised, it happens in that town ALL the time.
The job was fine, i enjoyed it, i always enjoy working, i like to keep busy, i can't sit still.
But the experience sure sucked!!

A Typical day at work was pumping peoples gas, and stocking the coolers with drinks, at the end each day, i would clean the bathroom, mop the floors, and bring the air hose inside, the manager was great, she was nice, and solved alot of problems, she never gave grief towards me and even said i was a good worker to my face, most of my co-workers were great there was one that talked like she was the boss of everyone, so i didnt rlly like her, but overall everyone was nice, the hardest part was the winter, having to shovel, and walk through the snow, or on Rainy days, the most enjoyable part was well almost every day, i enjoyed working there, it was simple, and everyone was nice, well almost everyone.

A typical day at work would be basically tending to the customers and making sure they had great service and were tending to greatly, and second to make sure they got the best deals we could give them. I learned how to really interact with people, what to do while working, and how to create a good atmosphere to work in even if you have to create one on your own. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the changes in weather, the most enjoyable was the connections made with my co-workers.

This place was my second job i had after moving from Winnipeg to Thompson. Working for this company i learned about how gas pumps and how the gas jockeys measure the amount of fuel left in the fuel tanks. Counting cigarettes was another thing I learned I had no clue about cigarettes because I'm a non-smoker. The staff I worked with all worked full-time hours so I got along with each one and the two owners of Fas Gas Oil. The most enjoyable part about this job was the free coffee in the morning as I worked the am shifts from 6 a.m to 4 p.m.

I would clean and maintain the Gas Pumps, pump gas, wipe windshields and add windshield wiper/oil/products to the vehicles when asked.

I learned better communication and interaction skills with customers.

Management was very friendly and kind, and willing to try and adapt to my needs.

They were nice people, very amicable.

The hardest part of the job was simply dealing with the cold.

Interacting with customers was the highlight of the job.

I ran a full serve site by myself. To run a business with them is a tough task. The earning numbers they show you on paper, you would never be able to see them physically. Shameless Management work at their Head Office. There are few reasonable people in their Head Office management but most of them are just unbearable. Their management has stroppy expectations that are difficult to implement on ground level.

I learned to have more patience and control my temper. Manage the customers behavior. The hardest part of the job is to get stressed to people how they treat me bad sometimes even if i tried my best to understand them but the most happy moment and ejoyable part of my job is when people or the customers smiled at me and say how are you today? That means a lot to me because i feel important and they respond to me.

I have learn read the faces and try to understand the people and perform my duties according to the demands .My always priorities to make my own customers and make them comfortable that they can come in my store with ease and create a good environment . When ever i just give training to a new employee i ask them be frank to the customers that they feel ease and enjoy your customer serves because it also help you a lot while dealing with them.

id really enjoy my job as a gas jockey attendant before in fas gas a full serve gas station in clyde corner highway 2 and 18.. i have a good relationship with customers for giving them a good service im happy seeing them that they are satisfied of my hard work.. and customers give me a compliments for all my hardworks.. for the other staff working inside the store i dont have any issue or complaints..
