As someone who has worked here for about 1 year, I can say from experience that this is a job that gives back whatever you put in. If you take initiative and show a real interest in the security of clients, you will be put at more important sites and recognized and rewarded accordingly with the amount of effort you put in. If you show that you are a valuable team member, management goes the extra mile to accommodate shifts, and even your preference in high or low action sites. This is a job where you primarily work on your own, so you have to be self-motivated.

I have worked at both static sites, and as a mobile driver. both can be great options. Mobile offers more variety and keeps you on the move with things to do. Static sites are slower paced

Easy job if you can stay out of the office, turn around time for you to quit if your in the office is six months. Company had some decent people in the office the owner that starts with “A” is a big reason why lots leave. He thinks he is the best at the job, he is never wrong and micromanaged you at every step. Pay is lacking, many people doing the same job and their pay rates vary. The owners do not care about their staffs mental health only the mighty dollar, they have a revolving door with their patrol drivers due to the work load they have, they don’t get their breaks that they are entitled to and are not delivering the patrols require to their clients. 

All in all if you need to use them as a jumping stone do it, but don’t make a career and a job out of footprints security. 

Toxic work culture for sure. 

2.8 stars seems high for this company for an overall rating. Do not apply here, unless you want to be treated like a robot by mobile supervisors who constantly talk poorly of socc operators, other employees who consistently do not show up for their shifts and in this position you are expected to fix this and not complain. There is a big double standard too between guards and socc operators (this job). They don’t get fired for much, including not showing up for work. As a socc operator, you will probably get fired within the first three months and be replaced by another new hire for three months. No reason will be given 

People there constantly talk poorly about others. Advancement is inexistant and people who've been working there for 5+ years make less than new hires. 
As for the video monitoring. Most boring and repetitive stuff in the world. You're not actually monitoring anything. You wait for an AI to send you a notification and 99% of the time. Its absolutely nothing. You'll lose your sanity. Oh, and you can't go to the bathroom without letting the SOCC operator know. But most of the time that operator is smoking outside standing about 50 feet away from the door while his phone is rigning for 10 minutes non stop. 
Save yourself the trouble.

Yet, I haven’t found anything stressful working with footprints 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is very healthy and its multicultural  that makes it’s easy to adjust.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
my typical day involves patrolling premises, monitoring CCTV, responding to incidents, and ensuring a safe environment for clients and visitors.

I do not recommend anyone work for this company. They constantly hire new people promising full time hours and within two weeks will cut your house back to as low as 12 hours a week. The owners and head office don't care about the employees at all. Just to overpay clients and underpay staff. Very toxic environment, fellow employees will not help each other at all and use negative statements to bring you down. The majority of shifts are over 8 hours long with no breaks, and no available bathroom(which is illegal) leaving you to relieve yourself in bushes most of the time as you're not allowed leaving the site.  Overall horrible job to work. 

Static work is fine, you show up to a certain location and do nothing for 8 - 12 hours. Mobile driving is a whole different beast and I suggest no one do it. 5x the amount of work and stress for 2$ extra per hour.

Their "schedule flexibility" is absolutely untrue, there is such a high turn around good luck getting your requested time off. Also their Medical & Dental plan is false advertisement. They don't offer dental and their medical plan is trash. 

Great job for extra side coin, terrible as a full time position.

Compared to the company I left after almost 15 years. Footprints is a decent company to work for. My paycheck is always on time, I get an email 2 days in advance of a full break down. Unlike the last company, where they paid with a check, and the office manager / accountant, it was always a sh**show. I am North Island, and my Managers always accommodate my disability for the work I get. All in All, it is very easy work, and fairly consistent. 

I started working with this company as a Mobile Driver which I did for 3 months but after forcing ALARMS on me all night in addition to my regular checks required caused me to go back to being a Stationary guard for almost 2 years.
At the END I was patrolling the DOWNTOWN NANAIMO area from Midnight till 8 am 5 days a week but when they refused to pay the POSTED WAGE and my car broke down ; I decided it was time to move on and find a COMPANY that RESPECTS and VALUES it's employees!
I found a better paying job within 2 weeks!

I worked for footprints as a mobile supervisor. I found that there was no support from management local or higher up.  they ask for your availability and always try to get you to work outside of that. 

in my opinion upper management does not care about the employees, they only care about the bottom line. this was proven when they decided to sell to Paladin Security.

good luck to anyone who applies , do not expect to get any support and be ready to deal with all the unhoused without that support.
