I didn't like working here at all.  Everyone talked behind each others backs.  I have nothing nice to say about my time spent there except they pay well. It's really cliquey and doesn't make for a good work environment. In my department we always said we wouldn't buy the meat if you couldn't cook it because the meat cutter never washes his hands and is always on the phone.  The owner has no personality towards his staff.  The training I received was sub par at best.  I for the most part used the knowledge I had coming into the manager position from previous work experiences.  Then one day I was handed a termination letter that had absolutely no details as to why I was terminated and it was done in my department in front of my staff when it should have been done in the office.  

Had a blast working at FreshMart!! The work itself was easy and it was very simple to keep busy because stuff always had to be done. The managers and staff were all so optimistic and excited to work with you. The customers were, for the most part, super nice because of the amazing atmosphere created in that building. Extremely accepting, non-judgemental, fun and productive place. Things were always  getting done and it was enjoyable because of the environment. The hours were extremely reasonable and nobody was ever overworked either. Management was so kind and understanding of any inconvenience. They were always happy to help and would do anything to make the staff enjoy their job. I looked forward to coming to work every day!

Management held onto bad staff due to favouritism and I did not get adequate training. I was told to take a notepad and essentially train myself. I had 90% of responsibilities due to severe understaffing. My manager would micromanage everyone on everything no matter how good of a job or experienced they were. I got meat thrown at me once for saying I didn't like the way I was talked to and that I thought I was doing a great job on the sandwich. Underpaid for the responsibilities. No benefits to working there. managers get an

when u get shifts they are very slow they control u by your hrs

The Freshmart grocery store has consistently exceeded my expectations. Their product quality is outstanding, and the customer service is second to none. I highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a great grocery shopping experience. Customers have praised Freshmart's wide selection of fresh produce, quality meats and poultry, and variety of healthy and international food options. Reviewers have described the store as having a great "Whole Foods and Rainbow Grocery" vibe. 

Typical day would be filling up the dairy products and other items on shelves in the store. Management was OK and co-workers were friendly and cooperative. Hardest part of the job was lifting and pulling heavy loads from the warehouse to the shelves and most enjoyable part was Working with other co-workers

The staff and customers are great. The owners (who are now gone thank goodness) are terrible to staff and customers. They go through so many employees because they are confused and moody. They discourage being a team, they can’t make any decisions and they don’t appreciate their business. Thank goodness there is new owners now. 

Working at a small grocery store in the already small town of Chelsea (QC) meant there were very few costumers coming in and out of the store. This made for very long hours where not many things were happening. I did however learn how to manage inventory and had the opportunity to work as the butcher's assistant and learn about the craft.
