I have been a cumulative employee of Fulton for 13 years.  I started as a legal assistant and moved into a paralegal role.  

After an initial 1.5 years,  I thought leaving to work for another firm was a good move at the time.  I even tried out other administrative positions; however, I soon realized what I had left behind and returned to Fulton when the opportunity arose.  As a full service law firm, there are many areas to switch things up and try if you're wanting a change.  

After working at a few different law firms early in my career, I can confidently say Fulton is the best!  It offers the work life balance I need.  In addition, it has some of the best non-wage benefits and future planning, which is important to me.  

Partners, managers and administration alike are always initiating social events and perks to show their appreciation.  This allows us to get to know each other outside the office and connect on a social level.  Most of us refer to our coworkers as our "Fulton Family".  Now that I've come back, I don't think I'll ever leave!  

Please look into other firms before accepting a job here - just because it is one of the biggest firms does not mean anything. The pay for entry level is just above minimum wage, so many employees are living pay cheque to pay cheque and it would take years to get a reasonable wage. The raises are $100/year (usually) which is less than the increased cost of living. The firm is very "lawyers" orientated and there is little to no appreciation for support staff, everything is to the benefit of the lawyers. The firm itself is extremely cheap for being one of the largest firms and most departments are under staffed and under paid but more employees is less money for the partners. It takes years to move up positions and even then your wage increase is not much. There is quite a few great lawyers or partners to work for but unfortunately that does not make up for the poor work place culture and terrible pay.

I've worked here for over a decade and some of my personal legal matters have been handled by this firm.  I have worked for several other law firms in BC and so I feel that I have some ability to make comparisons.  The human resources management and office culture is certainly improving in leaps and bounds in the last couple of years.  Job security, expectations of staff, challenges with work load and salary are all reasonable in my experience.  I have been very lucky that all of the lawyers I have worked for have been exemplary human beings and the teams I have been a part of have been good, productive and inclusive with a few exceptions.  My personal experience with the lawyers for my own legal matters has also been very good with all of the matters taken care of successfully in a professional and more than competant manner.  In a nutshell, this firm has been good to me and I am satisfied as an employee.  

Friendly, understanding staff & lawyers who care and are always open to questions. Visible opportunities for growth, concerns are listened to, and the current effort to make improvements and reduce stress is tangible. Plans are in place to manage workload stress, and there is genuine support from coworkers. Good benefits, no pressure to come in anyway when sick. There are,of course, busy days and the occasional stressed interaction. My only hope is that pay increases become more relative to cost of living. 

This was a weird place to work. I was not able to thrive there, despite a Herculean effort on my part. Disorganized practices and work areas, desks/workspaces are ridiculously small, management does not have a handle on hostile/incompetent/rogue employees. Hierarchical and old-fashioned. Administrative staff are treated like second-class citizens.  I do not recommend this firm.

This is the best office position I have worked in! The other staff members are completely amazing! They are willing to help you when you feel stuck, and no problem answering questions no matter how many times you ask! I couldn't ask for a better place to work. The only down side is the rate of pay could be better suited to cost of living. 

- Work volume is always busy and sometimes stressful, but with good communication about priorities, it's manageable. 
- Variety of work and ability to move around the firm for different challenges/experiences was exceptional.
- Good benefits and perks. Fun events every few months.

All staff is welcoming and quick to offer help when required. Lots of opportunities to grow and learn more with in the law firm. Enjoy going to work everyday 

The culture here is not very inclusive and I did not enjoy my time here. I think a lot of the firms in this area have a similar culture. I was looking for a more inclusive place to work.

Nice office and great people. Lots of nice perks for the staff such as well stocked coffee bar and team lunches and get togethers. Parking downtown can be tough.
