Very busy floor, often caring for patients waiting for alternate level of care (nursing home, rehab, etc), Often see silo nursing- unable to find someone to help out or unwilling to help you out. However, some staff are amazing, particularly the housekeeping staff. Needs a re-shifting in culture in order to be a great place to work. Clients get good care by nurses and doctors. Doctors are generally approachable, willing to teach, and great at what they do. Floor is often over capacity and management does not allow extra staff to come in to help out. Feel like you are putting your nursing license on the line sometimes. Management not helpful, supportive, flexible, or fair. I had more bad days then good here. Some nursing staff are lazy and unwilling to help, but others are exceptional at what they do and go above and beyond. High turn over, especially with RN's. 

I learned a lot about medical conditions, medications, nursing in general, and work culture. Some staff truly love working here and have had a much more positive experience than I. Often order lunch in on a weekend shift and have lunch together- which was nice for the morale. Some clients had interesting diagnoses which made the nursing care more interesting.

The unit I work in has a good team ethic 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The workload is unsafe. The head nurse would rather come and humiliate you to your face and make out that you lacking skills to manage rather than admit the ratios are wrong

The work culture is great among the floor staff as we have to look after ourselves due  of lack of management. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Short staff, no breaks. Too many patients to look after safety

Meeting new people and becoming friends with them and learning about how a hospital runs

Lots of work to be done and spotless for patient care and done daily, and management

It was ok until I was thinking about leaving, seems like there turning into a temp agency and don’t care about there current staff

The people of Groves and Wellington Healthcare are amazing!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing stands out as the most stressful part of working at the company.  

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The environment is very collaborative.  It is a close-knit team.  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
There is a lot of variety.  Workload is challenging but achievable.

Manipulation and lack of direction from management. They hire based on a vague job description then punish for failed expectations that were never set. Physicians say they appreciate you but then complain about you cherry picking charts and thus taking their billing money for seeing uninsured cases. They say they want NP but backtalk the previous NP for working in autonomous scope. What they really want are PAs that they don’t have to babysit. You can’t have both! 

Will never advance!!
Always called in on your day off and always contacted when you are on vacation.
Thrown around different departments due to insufficient staffing and scheduling...
If you think you are going to be working part time... Think again! There is no set schedule and it's often wrong so gets changed constantly.
Summer vacations are non existent unless you have been there a long time. 
Constantly being asked to stay for double shifts.
Exhausting physically and mentally!!!!

The change in Senior Management significantly impacted the culture.  No room for career advancement & salaries are far below median.  People work well together, but there is a lot of frustration on the floors.  SMT needs to re-focus.

Management needs to work on their retention of staff.
Lots of turn around with nursing staff.
Of the nursing staff that is currently employed they are very helpful and willing to help train new employees.

Challenging and educational experience.  The staff were, for the most part, kind and helpful.  Be prepared to hit the floor running!  Unionized.  You won't necessarily be able to get the shifts/hours that you want.  EVER.
