A typical day at work is busy, hectic, but still manageable with no hassle as everyone would work as a team to get the work done. From the management, I have developed great management skills as an independent worker as well as a team member. I was able to further enhance my skills regarding time management, approaching and handling difficult tasks, as well certain communications. Specifically, regarding the workplace culture, Georgia Pacific was very multi-diverse and accepting towards each person's individual differences. Everyone respected each other, helped each other when in need etc. The hardest part of the job is what to do, and how to deal with when the machine is done. This is difficult especially when you are alone and would have to deal with in a professional and appropriate matter. The most enjoyable part of the job was learning something new daily through the many challenges that would arise. Many would view this as the hardest part of the job; however, Georgia Pacific provided me with the opportunity to grow and learn from the tasks I was assigned to do.

GP is a wonderful place to work.  The MBM culture is a wonderful program that keeps you busy each and every day with lots to do and a challenging place to progress.  It is a fun place to work and I loved the people and my job duties.  The thing I dislikes the most was having to terminate someone but GP gave me the leeway to provide everything I could to make the process easier and have the person leave without a bad taste in their mouth.  I would recommend anyone to take a job there if they are not afraid of a hard days work for a good days pay.  Most all managers are on the same page so you can get help from anyone and know that you would receive the same answer from them all and avoid being mislead.

A typical day was made up of discussions with all levels of management to ensure that the plans of the business were in control. The focus was on productivity and cost improvement/reduction to ensure that the corporate goals were achieved. The management was mostly on a collaborative approach with final decisions made by the VP. The culture was intense but there were always opportunities for leisure time and friendly interaction. The hardest part of the job was knowing that you were always under the gun to achieve your goals. Most enjoyable part of the job was the friendships that were made.

A typical day at work was to focus and dedicate 100% to every task undertook.  My co-workers and the management team each contributed in all aspects of learning new skills and assisted me in expanding my capabilities.  The hardest part of my job was not knowing which of the variables were going to affect the process of my duties, as each day throughout the day we dealt with several variable circumstances.  However, working as a team made each day more interesting and together we always succeeded.  The most enjoyable part of my job was working with a great team of co-workers.

Decent shift supervisors but most above that in management will lie right to your face. Going the extra mile is not appreciated above shift supervisors unless you’re constantly telling on your coworkers which they promote. Management loves to cause rifts between employees, promote a toxic work environment then wonder why no one is happy. There is a reason why there is a revolving door of employees, because of no respect and low pay for manufacturing in the area. Safety is said to be number one but higher ups have no problem putting employees in danger for sake of production. Don’t drink the look aid this place is toxic. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The only good thing about working here is the steady decent paycheck.

Management is running the place into the ground!

Georgia Pacific was a great company to work for when they were a shareholder company. After the Koch buyout, things changed drastically. They have their ten guiding principles which in theory are a great idea. However one does soon discover that they are do as I say not as I do when it applies to the upper echelons of management. If you are willing to drink the purple kool-aid and follow their cult like mentality you will be fine. 

Georgia Pacific is a large US company. But our division in Brampton was a great place to work.  Women were always given chances to move up to better paying job, if they so desired.  Management was approachable. Most employees had worked there over 25 years. 
We made a great product, and when needed the production crew pulled together to work harder.  We would all still be employed at Georgia Pacific in Brampton if they had not ceased production and shut the doors putting 133 workers out of work in December of 2018.

I was employed for many positions over time from, In-term Health & Safety Manager to Capitol Projects-Health & Safety Program Developer over the years.

It was a nice environment with strict guidance and protocol that were actually followed.

The hardest part of the job was overseeing the the 24 hr-6-week project and the transition of workers during their time shifts.

The most enjoyable part of the job was the successful completion of the project.

If you are in the union you are protected.  If staff you are not.  Want puppets, You cannot voice an opinion.  If you show initiatives people feel threatened and therefore your job can be in jeopardy.  Negative working environment which is sad because it could be an awesome place to work.  They encourage throwing fellow employees under the bus; no WE are in this together attitude.  Management is horrible!
