I worked here for 3 years and it was honestly one of my favorite jobs I've had. The people were friendly, management was decent, and the work was fast paced most of the time. They always promise advancement, but when openings come they tend to either leave it as an empty spot to save money on salaries, or bring in outside people as opposed to promoting within. The only people who have a chance of promoting into a higher paid position is if they have family ties to the upper management. 

That being said, the work is pretty good, the hours are reasonable, and they have fairly decent bonuses near Christmas time. Also they have decent benefits and contribute to and RSP for their employees.

Deeply ingrained misogynistic behavior is flagrantly displayed every day. Management recognizes this and allows it to continue, diminishing confidence with a complete lack of support. Childish behavior exhibited daily, from the silent treatment, to being able to manipulate the atmosphere of the office based on their mood that day. Also, HR is not helpful in any capacity - don't bother going there for assistance. 

The company is in a growth phase, and has been a fun place to work with a solid team. 

There definitely is an expectation to deliver, but management gives you enough rope to hang yourself. Its really your choice what you do with it. 

A good sales driven company, for those who want to work for it.
 

in spring and summer afa forest products is busy   winter they are slow down   lots of yard up keep to keep one self busy   the management and salesman's are great to work with    management usually supplies snacks and such as appreciation

My experience at Gillfor was all around good. I could nit pick things I would change or didn’t like, but it’s the same as any job. You get to talk to good people in the industry every day and it’s enjoyable.

You are responsible for your work and held accountable. Management a great support. Need to work well with colleagues and be available a wide range of business hours.

If you are not management you are not making a decent salary at this place.  District sales managers are the important people otherwise you are expandable.  They don't care about you and their is no team it is me myself and I 

Great company to work for,  always something happening.  Very active sales environment, but sales staff was very easy to work with.  Yard staff were excellent in getting product on trucks and out in a timely manner.

Office manager has zero experience and is not familiar with the lumber industry as well as a micro manager who if anything, makes the workflow slower and less efficient.

Manager hard to work for. No flexibility to do your job properly. His way or highway attitude.  No opportunities to showcase your skilled or abilities.
