I have been gone from there for over a year now, and feel like I can give a better review. The schedule was great and I worked with some really great people, but other then that I would not recommend. It seemed like the way you were treated was based on solely who you were and knew. You could literally be the best employee in the building but if management didnt like you, you were treated badly and always "in trouble" for something, yet there were people who would barely do their job and be praised for it. Staff levels in the building were extremely un even and it seemed like the same floors always got all the staff which would be exhausting for the people working on the floors who didnt have enough staff. I have personally been yelled at by a floor nurse because they didnt do their job properly at the beginning of the shift, but because I didnt notice and say something it became my fault and was called on the phone while working to be yelled at so loudly the people around me could hear. It seemed like they constantly did surveys and meetings to discuss issues but nothing ever changed. The place as a whole is toxic. When new people came in, so many of the staff was rude. When people went off their regular floor to help another floor, the regular floor staff was rude and not appreciative or helpful at all. It was always short on staff yet I knew several people who were qualified thet never even got called for an interview! I also know someone who when they finally did get one, they sat in the front lobby for FORTY FIVE minutes after the interview time before management came to interview them. I really enjoyed being a CCA, but it was getting physically and mentally difficult to get up in the morning and go to work.

Start shift with narcotic count, report and reviewing orders (depending on shift start). Medication passes, wound care and treatments. Doctors rounds, order processing and charting.
Updating ADL's, admitting and transferring patients.  Ongoing assessment, palliative care and dementia care.  Staff are nice when they have time to interact.   The schedule rotation and staffing ratios are not great but they have good benefits and are under NSNU contract. 


Working at Glen Haven Manor has been an incredibly stressful experience. The environment is plagued by employees who spread lies, which creates unnecessary tension and mistrust. Management is unresponsive and unhelpful, making it even harder to address issues. The facility is severely understaffed, leaving employees overwhelmed and unable to provide the level of care residents deserve. Overall, it’s a horrible place to work, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.


Glen Haven is down right terrible. There are some GREAT employees but the majority are a nightmare.

They are clicky, gossipy, and bullies. You will see residents begging to go to the  washroom, and the CCAs including the TEAM LEADS.. will be talking about their weekends. Or days off. The managers do not care for their employees, only about withholding a good face on social media. This job almost made me kill.myself, and I have worked in personal care for many years. This is a complete toxic environment. Save yourself.

If you are a aggressive personality you will get along great here. If you are more shy and rarely talk you will find it very hard here.  management can be hard to deal with, the culture is bulling atmosphere. The hardest part f this job is the two face people you work with and the way management dose not want to do anything but make the place look better. like the saying you can put lipstick on a pig it is still a pig. most enjoyable part is the residents.

Very toxic, stressful work environment. I worked there for almost 10 years. Management has no respect for their employees. The harder you work the more they walk all over you. I almost wanted to leave the nursing profession because of my experience here. Very high stress, no support, no appreciation. Some coworkers were wonderful, others were absolutely awful. Bullies. Save yourself and get a job elsewhere. 

I worked giving medication administration daily. Often going with the Dr.and transcribing orders. I learned to always take time to listen to each person and try to make each one matter. The hardest part of the job was you never felt valued. The most enjoyable part of the job were all the friends you made and the wonderful residents.

Large building  with many staff..hard work..a typical shift was spent looking after residents and helping them with any and  all aspects of daily life...the hardest part was getting close to residents and having them pass away.the most enjoyable part was seeing someone smile at you for a kind word , or for helping them ...

I love working there! I ve been there about 3 years now and haven’t had an issue with anyone or anything 😊 Great place, convenient location, great schedule, especially for casuals, vacations are usually granted without issue, residents are appreciative of the care they receive and manager Martha, was exceptional ❤️

Good place to work. Pay should be more. Physically demanding and short staffed as are most work places. Co workers pleasant and helpful. Residents are the bonus!!
