I am a current employee on the afternoon shift (3:30pm - 12:00am). Very very fast-paced environment. Vigorous activity is definitely involved and I am oftentimes sore every night. Steel toes are required and they get disgustingly dirty (as expected). Comfortable work pants and a t-shirt are required (a gray ridge t-shirt MAY be given to you), do not wear nice clothes as they WILL get dirty. Supervisors and management are AWFUL at getting back to you and seem like they care JUST enough to avoid problems. Many of the workers are hired from a temp agency and are very childish and have a hard time taking orders. As a person in somewhat of an authoritative position (with no actual authority), it is VERY difficult to do my own job. The pay definitely makes up for it as the company pays very well (overtime after 44 hours). Benefits for full-time works are very good. Also as a female worker, I feel I have fewer advantages to move up in the company. They almost never train females on power equipment and struggle in spite of that. Another benefit; a free carton of eggs once a week (although many people abuse these privileges). Management and supervisors also give VERY little to no time in advance for overtime hours, shifts, cancellations etc. It is very very unorganized and is an actual mystery how they actually get anything done, let alone keep the same staff for any period longer than 6 months. Overall, the only good thing about this place is SOME of the people you meet and the pay. If there are any complications or issues during the shift, supervisors STRESS that it is OUR responsibility and somehow make it OUR fault. Day shift also almost never completes the orders and therefore afternoons struggle to keep up. 

Depending on your last name you either have a good time in maintenance or you learn literally nothing. Nothing is ever fixed even if it's safety related because the guy who does it is related to the head of maintenance so he gets to do nothing all day or things that aren't his job. I've seen people punished for things that they didn't do and people promoted because of who they are friends with. Upper management wants things to get better but they would have to fire so many people who are all related I don't know how it would ever get better.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I learned something every day. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Learning something by doing it the first time by yourself was pretty stressful. The amount of hours spent at work (50+ per week) took a toll physically and mentally.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Mostly supportive and cooperative, for my department. discipline regarding attendance seemed incredibly lax for others.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
there were no typical days. there were daily tasks to perform. otherwise, we'd expect the unexpected.

Not enough workers for each line. Still expected to get all the production in a day done. Speed too fast for being short on workers everyday. Need more workers, or at least need to pull from the other lines when short people. Need better management and a person to supervise who there to see everything going on.

I would build skids for a large part of the day. The work day usually lasted a very long time. The job would start in the middle of the afternoon which would lead to working long into the morning of the next day causing my work/life balance to be disrupted.

The hours and pay are not bad; it is hard work but that aspect is fine. Management sucks though. It's impossible to get days off and the atmosphere is not a positive atmosphere. Bottom line: they don't care about their employees!!

Great place to work at. Worked there for 3 years and enjoyed it. Management staff are good to you. Its easy to advance yourself if willing. Some long hours at times and the odd Sunday.

It was alot of long hours the co workers were great though i sometimes miss it than realise i have more of a social life now 🙃 😅 i likes the shift more than what i am on now but it was harder than what i am doing now

Daily inspections, many overlooking important issues


even if you dont have your high school diploma, getting a job here isnt difficult, but it is fast paced and you wont make it far if you are afraid to get your hands a bit dirty
