HUETHER HOTEL

Huether Hotel is a very busy, fast paced environment (in the summer and during big reservations. Winters are often dead). The staff there are some of the most amazing people I’ve ever worked with. Management is unprofessional and rude on occasion, but if you stay on their good sides it’s not too bad. Tips varied from nothing to $250+ a night, and hours varied as well. Occasionally you’ll get sent home without working/pay if the restaurant isn’t busy, but in that case you sometimes get a free meal. Overall I did enjoy my time there for the most part, but there were a lot of tough moments. 

Worked here for a little while (5 months). I recommend this job to nobody. They only care if it benefits them. They will throw you under the bus just to save themselves and the brand name. Management is horrible. It is a family run business but they do not know how to work together as family.  Safety: This place is run down... so many possible injuries and they do not have WSIB forms. They also pull a lot fo illegal things here. Not properly tipping, not running the place properly and last, not treating their staff properly. Better off working at Mcdonalds.

The co-workers are what made the job fun, alongside working in a cool building. However, the management is what made it terrible. They can be extremely rude, disorganized, and do not care for their staff. Be prepared to go into work, have to wait around for a few hours (without clocking in, because they won't let you), and get sent home (all because it was not busy enough). Managers yell at anyone making minor mistakes, training was practically nonexistent, and servers must give 25% of their tips, alongside $5 for hosts. 

Working at the Huether was not the best experience in my opinion. The job itself could have been quite enjoyable, but the management made that difficult. The owner on multiple occasions made me feel as though I was "not smart enough" to do my job, when I very well could (because it really wasnt that hard). Very difficult to ask any type of question because the managers just get angry at you.

shifts went one of two ways, either you had to wait to serve since there were little customers and maybe you would get cut or they would call you in early since there were so many customers. Tip out was fairly good and on a good night you could make upwards of 100 after tip out. 

This place will teach you what hard work is all about. Your salary will be laughable, but because of this you will be able to work up to higher positions and learn something along the way. Staff are a tough tight knight bunch. Good luck

Management was alright there, although the owner wasn't. The food is great, atmosphere as well. Nothing was ever hard, I learned how to make some great meals and got some awesome friendships out of working there.

The Huether can be a fun place to work, but having multiple managers on the clock can lead to conflicting instructions. Be prepared to operate differently depending on which manager is around

Working was the worst place I have ever worked, the turn over is high. The owner insults you and you have to take it because “that’s how she is” she is nice to you but behind the scenes, she is RACIST!!

Come in and set up the station then begin to serve customers in a friendly manner. Learning how to work together well as a team. Enjoyable part of the job was amazing customers one can meet in this environment
