There is no typical day of work. Every day is different. When you drive to location with a partner 2 trucks are loaded heavily with equipment, need to be on time according to weather conditions.
Even if you might drive 1000 km or more. After arrival need to gig up. It might take 10-12 hrs, tools need to be tested before running in the hole. Picking up tools take time too and need to be tested again. When we begin drilling we start to take surveys and logg the well.
It might take 48 hrs when one of us go to sleep.

Co-workers are very different and need to manage with 4 different characters. The hardest part is if something did not go well and problem need to be solved ASAP. The oil-gas wells cost a lot of money, mostly those horizontal and directional. Any tool failure: MWD or mud motors are a big problem bonded with a lot of stress and explanation to our and oil company offices.

The most enjoyable part of the job is when you home, your paycheck and satisfaction that job was done properly and within time.

A typical work day is to be in early, get the necessary head up, and has a quick morning chat with the team, then upon that resuming previously open projects or starting new ones is to be decided.
I am learning a lot through meeting new customers, and interacting with my co-workers, things like collaboration, sharing knowledge and lessons learned are very commonly used here.
Management is among the best I have seen, I feel like I am within a family and this is a result of the very short distance between managers and employees, and the healthy environment we are working on.
I am lucky to have such a co-workers, they have been great since day one, always ready to help and support me.
The hardest part of the job is sitting in front of the computer the whole day, other than that everything can be easy.
The most enjoyable part is the feeling you get when the team goals are accomplished. It is a satisfaction that everyone feels because the whole floor has contributed on it.

This company from the outside looks like it can offer you a bright future. However when they do the interview process and the new hire process they roll out the red carpet and treat you like a king. However in a short while later you realize it was all fluff. There is no team moral boosting, if you want a raise or to try a different task you have to fight for it for a full year before they even consider it. Too many managers contradicting other managers. However this place has great benefits and pensions. If you can work for a sub-par wage, and great benefits, fighting for your small raises and work in a place that recognizes you faults before ever acknowledging your successes, then go work here. Oh and they say that safety is number one but they try to prevent employees from seeking medical attention so the managers get their safety bonus at the end of the year.

•	PLC modeling for industrial application
•	Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems Interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings. 
•	Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance activities on machinery and equipment throughout the facility 
•	Responsible for Modification, repairing, installation, maintaining, improving, and troubleshooting various types of machinery, equipment, and facilities in the processing & packaging departments.  
•	 Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment,   
according to layout plans using hand and power tools. 
•	Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machines   
• Participate in the development of team members through training and collaboration.  
•	 Running electronic tests and inspections, cleaning contacts or circuit boards, ensuring that systems are grounded and installing outlets, lighting fixtures and switches..

I started at Halliburton when I finished Lambton College as a Electrical Technician I was responsible for the units in the field while I was on site as well as the repairs to the units when the got back to the shop. The shift work was 10 days on 4 days off of 8 hour shifts but while in the field shifts could last anywhere from 8-16 hours giving a lot of opportunity for overtime. The management that I answered to was very knowledgeable and willing to help whenever it was needed. The most enjoyable part of the job was that it was different all of the time and since technology is always changing and upgrading there is always going to be more to learn. The hardest part of the job was in the field when there is no cell reception and needed to ask a question you would basically be stranded until you figure it out.

I worked in completions as an engineer. I started after a short stint with an oil company, and moved here to pursue a career with more field work.

The training is top notch. Halliburton gives you the tools to learn and succeed in your career. 

The work is technically interesting, and in my small office it was diverse. It was demanding at times, and time in the field is often non negotiable and unexpected.

The culture wasn't what I expected. Hard work wasn't rewarded and it's easy to burn out given the work thats required. Most people I knew were always talking about a way out, moving to another company or career by taking the skills they had learned from Halliburton. 

When the industry took a down turn, my office did little to help it's employees. There were widespread cuts, and questionable layoffs for months.

Had to take over LGC from cross shift and be informed as how things were running, repair anything that was not working right and report to cross shift as to how things ran for my shift.
Was taught how to mix the gel slurry and maintain equipment, how to put tire chains on, how to back semi trailers up, and how dangerous working in the oil patch can be, had to maintain several tickets needed to work at my job
Worked as a team and kept good communication with fellow workers 
Hardest part of job was rigging into the well head, lots of heavy lifting 
I enjoyed traveling to different place through out the three western provinces and the United States

FRAC operators work long hours outside in all weather conditions. It’s not for everyone but if you want to work hard and get paid well for the work you do then it’s a great opportunity. Management is generally good, but this is a huge company with tons of employees so there is always a little bad that comes with the good. Field employees don’t have to deal with management often anyways and most issues you have can be dealt with by your immediate supervisor. You will be away from home for up to 15 days at a time but you always got your 6 days off at the end. 

Design management and technical sales in downhole tooling for use by the oil & gas industry. Thorough understanding of oilfield operations and industrial specifications. Experience with management of large projects, from conception to commercial release. Thorough understanding of manufacturing, materials, costing and machine shop activities.
Enjoy the technical aspect of the career, including legal engineering aspects such as patents. Prefer a challenge, but highly skilled with prototype studies to reduce cost or manufacturing conflicts. Skilled with prototype testing and evaluation methodology.
Accustomed to nontypical work days, able to travel internationally to see the client and present technical sales.

Excellent quality of leadership and room for advancement.   Many tools to help in the field with unlimited resources for problem solving and engineering.   
Great management team with unlimited support on a 24/7 basis.
