The company continuously changes the way you’re paid out and makes it almost impossible to hit targets year after year. If you have a few good years you can guarantee your 3rd yr won’t be good commission wise. It’s tough to be proactive when you’re making the company 15-20% more profit and you’re getting paid lower. The salesforce implementation was good however they still don’t know what they want out of it and constantly change targets. The year end reviews are now based highly upon software services that have little to do with overall revenue. You should get paid for performance, but in reality it’s a struggle and even if you hit your sales numbers doesn’t mean you will be seeing a year end salary bump (which is less than inflation). 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great training  when given. Great family atmosphere within the employees. Hard working people.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
A big brother type of company. Micromanaging poor choices of managers. Low level of communication with employees

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor most of the time. Culture is good systems in place to have high performance but poor management leaders thus miss used.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Customer facing from 8 to 4 any administrative work is to be done on your time as not enough time during the day. Expectations are everyone work well into the night

They do not give raises and always loses good employee because of no respect for the coworkers.
They do not know what team worker is Especially the Management.
Work over load as they do have too many workers.
They lose many accounts because again the Management Team.
No growth for the little hard working coworkers, unless your are a willing to lose yourself!
The Management team is so disconnected from what actually happens on the floor. They have lost so many good people here due to their poor attitudes and the way the treat people who works so hard but yet people who are lazy stand around get nothing but respect.



I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company.

I was disheartened by my time at Hilti. The recruitment and promotion processes seemed more about favoritism than merit. Despite possessing strong skills and experience, I felt undervalued and overlooked. The company boasts of professionalism and high-quality equipment, but the reality is far from it.

The management team lacks direction and seems adrift. It's clear that individual contributions and employee growth are not prioritized. I would strongly advise potential candidates to think carefully before considering a position here.

9/10 times people get promoted based on who they know and not what the know. Also you could hit target 10 years in a row but that one year you missed target, you get fired for lack of performance. Hilti has a lot of turnover but unwilling to look at the managers as to why? When a football team is not performing over a long period of time, the manager is looked at but in Hilti, they would get rid of the players. It is a great company, product, service but with many times than none, with a bad leader. Because you finished your target at 200% does not mean you now have the experience to lead a team. You could have walked in to an emerging territory.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great company and very good management. Good training and communication.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Extremely busy warehouse in Burnaby. Hard to meet deadlines sometimes as items are not put in the right location.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very helpful and positive. Team is quite strong except for 1 or 2 people. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Extremely busy right from the get go.

This is not the same company I was hired at, with the shift in management and a move to a marketing focused approach the sales team is not viewed with any respect or valued in any way. All departments are heavily siloed and nobody works collaboratively across departments or regions.  They micromanage us and very clearly don't have any faith or trust in the sales team. There has been massive turnover of sales people and management  and I am gone as soon as I can find another role.  

I was supposed to work at Hilti for 2 weeks and they kept me for almost 3 months.
My abilities with customer service help the company also I was able to put away everything on their own places.
They (Hilti) offered me to joined their main warehouse but on my first week I just my back injury I climbed ladders with over 40lbs boxes for hours I felt down and for 3 months was on compensation. 

There were no typical days at work, each day offered new challenges & rewards. I began as a Hilti sales rep, was promoted to a Lead, then Head Lead & finally, Regional manager for Hilti "Pro Shop" in Canada. 

I happen to have 4 managers during 3 years, compensation was caped, lots of hats to wear, team work has no meaning, and people with 18 to 10 years of experience with the company left.
