A typical day for myself, starts out with checking the stock on the carts, and then taking the stripping basket to remove used linens from the used rooms. I perform laundry duties and clean rooms as well as other duties. We typically start at nine, and work till the work is done.
I have learned to enjoy hard work, I could live without the long hours, since it is difficult to make overtime. 
Management could try to focus a little more on keeping employees, we have a turnover rate that lately is rather frightening to long term employees. Three new hires have quit in the last three months.
The hardest part of the job is getting hours in the slow season. One employee had one shift in three weeks, another has been off for five days straight.
There is very little to name the most enjoyable part of the job, when you are tasked with cleaning up after other people, some of whom may need to revisit potty training.
The best includes many of the Front Desk Agents, and the Maintenance team. I have made good, lasting friends with most of the staff, and the owner of the hotel likes me as well. The people who aren't in major positions are some of the best people I have had the privilege of working with. The guests have been wonderful, several do stand out more than others, both good and bad.

In my time with this company in Lindsay, Ontario staff is taken advantage of and pushed around because the management can’t run effectively or stay organized.  Can’t even put a schedule out until the day of the new work week.   Unacceptable in my opinion. No other work place I have been with does this. Also the building is heavily dated leaking. Smells like mold in the rooms. Kitchen is cluttered and discussing. Mouse traps everywhere.  There are ant traps scattered through certain rooms. I feel bad for any future employees or customers that have to deal with this employer. No matter what job you are hired for there will make you do jobs that aren’t part of your job description.  Also there are no lunches.  Can’t even leave the property to get something.

I thoroughly enjoyed working at the Howard Johnson.  The people were great, the job was great and the benefits were reasonable.  The only con I would say is how I had to be on night shifts sometimes, but that is about it and a personal preference of mine to sleep during night hours.  The TV is on with the news or sports while working at the Front Desk, and any one checking in or out comes to you for help.  It is an enjoyable position as a part time student.  Full-time I could see the position getting to be a bit repetitive however it is still a position with nice conditions.  Both heat and A/C available in the building.  Usually left over food from events.  Able to bring your own, snack whenever you like as long as it doesn't get in the way of working.

Howard Johnson wasn't a bad place to work for the most part. A typical day at work was just taking orders, making the orders, and working the cash register. I learned how to make pizza and how to make KFC sandwiches. Management wasn't very good, the manager and the supervisor were very immature and did not do a good job. My co-workers were good for the most part except that Howard Johnson hires anyone and everyone with even asking if they have any diseases or mental illnesses. The hardest part of the job was dealing with not having the ability to request days off because when I did, I never got them. The most enjoyable part of the job was when tourists called me pretty or complimented me in any way.

In my time working there, management had made many promises including wage increase and medical, and unfortunately neither were met as promised. They also don't feel bad about not training people properly and then firing them because they do an insufficient job. Overall, I wouldn't recommend working here if you want job security and proper pay. They were constantly understaffed from the day I started, except in the off season and then they lay you off for months on end.

A typical work day would be showing up at 7a.m and then cleaning rooms and doing laundry also cleaning bathroom untill about anywhere between 3-5 on a good and busy day. My co-workers there where understanding helpful if you needed it, the most enjoyable part of the day was about half way threw I always found it the most fun and enjoyable part of the day.

I didn’t work there long but it was my favourite work place ever. I enjoyed learning new ways to clean and how to make beds although at first I did struggle. It’s a very hard working demanding job, and sometimes not always appreciated by others. However, it’s very gratifying job in my opinion. It was and will forever be my favourite job.

learnt different slang while communicating with customers from USA and other countries. Learnt to use professional software of hotel room booking and also got expert as a cashier and completing the night audit.

This job is not for the weak willed it is very hard and tiring.
If you r looking for employment that has short hours then this is a good placement. 
Work environment is enjoyable.
Customers r usually very ejoyable to help and deal with.
U learn very well  time management skills at thisjob as well.

Starting the day includes preparing my cart to clean rooms, I would clean 20 rooms per day. I learned that you have to be a self learner. Co workers were pleasant. Hardest part of the job is remembering your daily duties especially when it was time for the hotel reviews.
