Impact Security

Am on part time / on call basis. I got calls unexpectedly ( random shift assignments). Once I was at a bus stop waiting for bus and I got a "shift call " recently (2019) (randomly assigned shift that was 4:50 p.m. and I am to start shift at 6:00 p.m.) I arrived at the Whittier Park 6:15 p.m. 
Once I just finished doing chores in our yard when I got a call at 9:00 p.m.( Nov.,2018) (shift starts at 10 p.m. At 9:15 p.m. the mobile car arrived to pick me up ( we did pick up another guard way down Polo Park [ We came from the North End],). We arrived at the site (social) before 10 p.m.   Another time I got a call and asked if I can work the Bombers game, pre-season ( this yr. ,2019). I told the manager I'm still at school and will be home by 4:30 p.m. I take the transit and won't make it to the IGF by 6 p.m. (start of shift), he told me he'll send transport for me at 5 p.m.  I was still dressing up when the mobile arrived at 5 p.m. The mobile had to pick up another guard but was already picked up by another mobile. We arrived at the IGF at 6 p.m.
Several times same thing happened. I was once at the Jets game (2018) when asked to work a social, right there and then. I did not have a black uniform shirt with me so we had to pass by the office and pick up a shirt (2019). Recently, (2019) I got a call (8:20 p.m.) if I can work that night (shift starts 9:00 p.m). Was asked what time can I reach site. I answered in an hour cause I have to take the transit. 
I arrived at the site 9:30 p.m. and reported to the office.

A typical day working at Polo Park is never the same, which made work exciting. Some days it could be very quiet, some days it could be intense with a lot of things happening at once. The experience I've learned like handling with belligerent individuals in a professional manner, experiencing and handling medical situations, and much more is something I will always remember and improve on in the future. Management at Polo Park was very organized and very helpful when it comes to giving a helping hand on situations and how to properly write a report. The hardest part of the job was probably the report writing, but it was probably the most rewarding when it came to detail of a report. The most enjoyable part of the job would be interacting with public and providing excellent customer service to mall patrons and tenants.

i had good experience with imapct i learn lot of things during my job which will be very useful in my security career
i like their management. they manage all staff very nicely
my all co workers are good, responsible and cooperative
i did get any hard time in during my job
i enjoy my all shifts at events when i meet lot of different people and do protection for them
i feel proud to be security guard when i was in lot of youngsters, adults and kids and give them security

Had to fight management for last paycheque because there was no notice of the manager quitting and the one that took over is completely untrained and not knowledgeable in the labour law. I was forced to wait 2 weeks past the pay date for vacation pay and also have not been paid in full for the BVJ 2019 event that I worked.

Lied to staff about the per Diem that was supposed to be paid out to every employee who showed up. Had to threaten to take them to Alberta Labour Board in order to get an actual response.

Overall job was ok, lots of good practices and different sites,  but no future and unstable management, not enough  hours. Job manegnment had changed several times over the years , not every manager were looking to grow the business ,  therefore the company lost their business clients. No opportunities to grow as an international employee was a bit descriminated  by a management would be skipped from getting oportunity to work as a loss prevention officer . In fact I already had an education compare to other employees, never complained in any terms  , however had an opportunity to complaint to the union.

I am very happy to work for Impact security group. I have been a part of the company for almost 2 years and I am expecting to continue further. I am hoping to get promoted in the near future because of the devotion and dutifulness that I have maintained over the course of my employment with the company so far. I would recommend every new comer to this country to work with this company. The managers are very nice. they know how to train and help a person learn how to be responsible and how to help people when they need security.

Every day at work is a learning. Talking to people and resolving their queries. Managing time and work and following the schedule helps in producing valuable skills. Being part of a team is an effective way to accomplish peoples skill and how to play ones part. There is no part of the job very difficult when concentrating on the part itself. Almost every part, either talking to people, or finding a solution to a problem, or proving assistance to co-worker is always enjoyable.

All bosses are with b*g a*s . It seems , they found it is so hard to move their a*s. The management team will make you cry . All the dispatcher are your boss .  Don't join impact. You might get some money but metally will become poor as ho*eless. They always use the term guard . Where all other security industries use the term security officer/ guard. You. Will become value less . The management think , you r getting paid without doing anything. 

I have been working as a security guard for the last 6-7 months. I learned how to be cautious all the time and performing my duties with responsibility because that is the most important part of being a security guard. My typical day at work keeps changing and it depends upon the nature of the site where I have worked.

I am able to communicate with all types of individuals in all types of settings which is quite enjoyable to me.  A typical day at work consists of a lot of driving of the mobile vehicle in which I am able to choose from a number of selections.  The hummers are most fun.  I enjoy my job however do not get a lot of hours.
