Having come from a company that only offered raises when an employee threatened to leave, IST was a great change. This company values its employees from the office to the shop. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the business that IST is involved in, market events and patterns affect the amount of work that comes in. However, even during slow times they try to make as much work available and retain as much talent as possible. 

The company has some great perks like summer flex hours allowing you to take time off on Friday's during the summer months, they shut down for a week at Christmas and the shop has a 4 day work week schedule with every Friday off. The company also offers good health benefits, an RSP matching program and a wellness and computer benefit. Employee recognition is also a big aspect at this company.

I enjoy coming to work at IST every day. I am regularly offered new challenges and opportunities, and management is always available for support. We have a wonderful team of people who are always willing to help out their colleagues. 

There are many perks available including summer hours, a fitness subsidy, flexible work hours and little rewards programs that encourage a work hard-play hard environment. The option to work from home is not really supported here to the extent that it was in other places I have worked. 

There are great opportunities here to use troubleshooting skills and outside of the box thinking, and management supports a continuous improvement rewards program to ensure that we are always improving.

A typical day (evening) at work for me was extremely mind developing, having to be on top of my responsibilities due to the over all the safety of myself and others.
I loved that I learned how to tack weld and loved the people I worked with on my shift.
Management was a bit off putting. Especially on night shifts. However, I was always safe and never in danger. My co-workers were great to work with. Very friendly and hard working. 
There was nothing really "hard" or difficult for my to understand about my position at IST. However, I must say trying to understand Blue Print was a bit difficult. Clearly that was something anyone would have to go to school for. And the best part of me working for IST was going into work everyday!!

Good culture, management is approachable and visible, salary is decent.  Very much a project based company, so there will be busy times followed by periods of little work.  Some people have been here a long time, a testament to the company and belief in the product.  When business is doing well, they will offer rewards and recognition for jobs well done.  Respected company in the industry, and with unique products there is a pride in working at IST.

Excited to go to work every day. The people were great to work with and always had quality and safety in mind while performing day to day tasks. Always something different to do making each day a new day without to many repetitive tasks. Lots of problem solving and blue print readings allowing workers to use there minds and come up with new, better, and safer ways of doing work tasks.

A very respectful workplace, solid team of people who are always willing to help.  Good communication and a sense of being valued here.   I look forward to coming to work every day.  No problem with work/life balance.

Started on contract, saw no growth in the company. Struggled to get jobs and when we did succeed they where late and over budget.

Was let go due to project being 3 months behind schedule and way over budget. Everyone from VP to myself was let go

No vision from management and poor oblivious decision making by them. Finding a better way program was taking away our garbage cans from underneath our desks for garbage to pile up

IST has a great safety culture and management that supports safety. They strive to ensure each and every day workers leave work without an injury.

The job work / life balance is great too. They value family life and will work a special work schedule to accommodate family circumstances.

Was a good place to work, the benefits was ok , good working environment, shop floor people were good to work with , Management wasn't the greatest. Pay was average and hard to get any decent raises.
