Unless you can apply internally to grab a job away from the entry-level call center-like positions into a back office position, use this job as a jumping off point to leave a year later.

Jobs normally advertised publicly are administrative or phone line positions; you will be told the administrative position is about paperwork and not calling... And then be told to do lots of calling to avoid overworking the call center side. It effectively turns the administration job into a lower-paying version of the call center job but with more responsibilities and knowledge expected of you.

Average day involves electronically assessing paperwork and filing/forwarding the documents where necessary. You are not public-facing so there is no day-to-day office duties or receptionist duties like there would be at similar positions in the area.

However this breather is interrupted by the company's obsession to shove you into training and constantly change what you're responsible for, cross-training you for no extra pay to make you as useful and versatile for their changing needs as possible.

The frustrations with working with this company is the culture focusing on advancement and collaboration - yet your management will dodge your promotional questions at every turn and you're ironically in competition with your other workers in the department for those internal job offers, promotions and bonuses. The job also enforces an unofficial and intentionally vague performance system to track how productive you are, and will gladly weaponize it against you to deny you more money.

This company operates in a way to prey on entry-level business graduates who have no perspective on how their sector should function so that they can keep their labour as cheap as humanly possible.

It is legitimately still a good choice for first-timers in these sorts of fields because it emulates the corporate/cubicle environment in a contemporary manner, but if you're not being given internal job offers or bonuses/promotions after 9-12 months of working there, just do yourself a favour and add them to your resume to start the job search again.

I was hired as a summer student for a few months with no expectations, as I had never worked in a corporate workplace before.
My first impression was of AIM Trimark, it was called at the time, was it was clean, had refreshing open areas, an array of people from different cultures, and the people were constantly in friendly conversations.

This was a great experience. Most days I did not want work to end, because each day at AIM was different, fun, kept me enthusiastic and gave me the urge to learn more about the Information Technology department. My team was always encouraging, positive and quite animated, which blended with my personality.

AIM Trimark or now Invesco has a very good growth environment and I know any future student would be happy to work there.

•	Managed the Product Marketing initiatives on companywide projects that needed to be delivered on strict timelines
•	Assisted with the final phase of launch for Invesco Canada’s new private wealth program and products 
•	Organized planning sessions, including client-centric background research, execution, communication, adherence to budget, standards and procedures (corporate, marketing, regulatory/compliance), as well as tracking and monitoring marketing campaigns
•	Prepared and updated presentations to be used by the portfolio management team
•	Successful project coordination of RFP request from institutional clients that have generated positive flows 
•	Continuously building and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners, with a focus on client facing teams

The culture within the department is phenomenal! Management is supportive and the training program is thorough and gives you the foundation for excelling. Co-workers are friendly and there are opportunities to participate in group activities inside and outside the building.

However, this job is entry-level and compensation is not spectacular. Promotion and other job opportunities are limited and competitive in the PEI office so do not come in with the expectation that you will be able to move out of the role and into another department quickly.

The position overall is a good starting point but there is room for improvement regarding compensation and opportunities that could make the position feel more like a starting point in your career and not just an entry level position.

Having worked in two different departments has given me great exposure to the organization and how each department interacts with one another.

Working in corporate finance is very different than working in fund administration when it comes to the type of work that gets done. I found corporate finance to be more challenging, and often required you to use your research skills to resolve any issues that you may come across. For example, having to go to the CRA website to find out what type of deductions are allowed for the business.

Overall, the organization is a great place to work, however, I am at a point where I feel that the opportunities to advance are limited.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Work from home, good benefits.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No job security, overtime due to company restructuring, chaotic daily work, no consistency in inquiries and support. Policies are very hard to follow, information is not up to date, or totally missing.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
No real team work. Each little team is in it's own bubble. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and overwhelming, you never know what you are going to get to work on. Over Time is very "normal".
Calling clients is part of the job.

Delivering a superior investment experience for our US-based clients I work closely in partnership with Invesco's brokers and financial advisers in the management, maintenance and facilitation of our Retail Investment accounts. Duties include processing daily investment requests, handling large and various forms of investments, maintaining relationship with brokers and clients, conducting meetings, conference calls and presentations, as well as keeping up with changes to security measures and all laws, regulations and key knowledge relevant to the investment industry.

Management is the biggest downfall and disappointment, I overheard supervisors being told to be mean By management.  Same management let go of people for things that were just a slight.  Also long time , exemplary employee, casually told on floor that their position had Been moved to Toronto and no longer had a job.   I dont know anyone that wants to work there that is actually from PEI.  Tax payers money built the building.  Very few originally from PEI.  Naive outsiders work there now.  Training is abysmal.   The culture is like high school.  Very Spiritually toxic environment once you get a desk.

Overall, it has been a great experience working here. When starting out, you learn a great deal about the financial services industry and how mutual funds and ETFs operate. Your immediate team is generally helpful, however, if you need to consult other departments for additional assistance, the experience can sometimes be inconsistent. There is also a surprising number of IT issues, such as applications not loading, error messages, and random slowdowns, which can hinder the overall working experience.
