For my first year working there during COVID when it was only curb side pickup, It was actually great, hours were given, manageable/ flexible schedule etc.. but recently, after the COVID restriction we’re lifted it has been not so great. The stores managers are unorganized and pressuring. My colleagues and me are always asked to go do cash at the front cause their low on people, as a result we don’t even have time to do our own tasks in the department. And we have no choice in the saying, we’re forced to do it even if we don’t feel comfortable doing it. Their were many times where me and my colleagues were talking about work related stuff and we get reproached at by one of the stores managers. My new assistant manager tells us to not do certain things and proceed to do them herself. Also, availability is sometimes not respected, which is stressful as a high school student. In general, I wouldn’t recommend working at Joe Fresh at the real Canadian superstore as your first option but it is a good  part time job for a a high student but I would say not for a long stay.

A typical day at work tends to involve working on cash. I enjoy the interaction with customers so this is generally my time to interact and communicate with customers. Many employees have their set jobs based on their skills and experience working for the company. The majority of what I have learned is from the company itself and what Joe Fresh has to offer to its customers. My co-workers are all very friendly and committed to improving the atmosphere and shopping experience for our customers. I have a close relationship with my managers and am able to trust that they have my best interest. The most enjoyable part of the job is helping people look and feel great about themselves and their purchases and the social interaction/ relationship building that comes along with getting to know the customer while adjusting to their needs and wants. The hardest part of the job would be occasional customers having an uncivilized attitude but handling those situations professionally definitely makes the challenges of retail a learning experience.

I had a great time working at Joe Fresh, it was a fun and beneficial experience for me. A typical day at work would be organizing clothing that needed to be folded, making sure dress rooms were always clean and put away any clothing on the racks. I learned:
-Customer service and communication skills: Customer service is very important because good customer service such as being friendly, polite, and putting the customer first is very important in building a relationship with the customer so that they return and have a great experience to tell other people about. 
-Time management: Good time management is also very important trait when working anywhere because customers want employees who are capable of working efficiently and prioritize certain tasks to make sure they get done on time. Co-workers were very nice and outgoing especially when I first started working there, everyone made sure I didn't feel left out. The hardest part of the job would probably the long shifts I was working. The most enjoyable part of the job was going to Joe Fresh's events.

I worked at a Joe Fresh department in my superstore as a first job, a couple of months back, and from the very beginning, I already could tell that I wasn’t going to have a good time there.

The manager was rude to me during the interviewing process, and it only got worse from there once I was hired. The work environment was toxic, tense, and unwelcoming. Majority of my coworkers were older than me, and were friends/family with management, and I felt like the odd one out. Coworkers were also rude and standoffish, and a select few of them were nice.

My hours were also really low too, I was getting scheduled to work only 4 hours a week, and I was getting paid very little amount of money.

The job itself was very easy to do, but management made it unnecessary hard by putting pressure on me, criticizing every little thing I did, etc.

Out of the three new hires, two of us quit, me included, and that alone says a lot about the job environment. 





**Rating: ★★★☆☆**  

Working at Joe Fresh as a sales associate has its ups and downs.  

**Pros:**  
- The team dynamic can be great, especially if you enjoy working with friendly and supportive colleagues.  
- Employee discounts on Joe Fresh clothing are a nice perk.  
- The shifts are generally manageable, and scheduling is relatively flexible, which is helpful for students or part-time workers.  

**Cons:**  
- The workload can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially during sales or peak hours, as there aren’t always enough staff to handle the volume of customers.  
- Pay is decent but not competitive, especially given the amount of multitasking expected (e.g., stocking, assisting customers, and cleaning).  
- Advancement opportunities are limited, and feedback from management is not always consistent or constructive.  

Overall, it’s an okay job if you’re looking for retail experience or a temporary position, but it may not be ideal for those seeking long-term growth or a stress-free work environment.  

I worked here for about a year and 3 months, and honestly I would’ve stayed longer had my manager agreed to the multiple requests I put in for less hours due to school. It was an enjoyable job 70% of the time, wasn’t very busy during the closing shifts I primarily worked, and I never got a write up. I made a lot of good friends with the other girls who worked there, before they all quit because of our managers attitude towards them and our work. We were pressured to complete impossible tasks within certain time limits, and I was given little to no training after being hired. In fact it took around 3 months after I had been hired to get my cashier code, and another 3 months before someone ever actually taught me how to use the register. The discount was nice, at least.

A typical day as a stock associate meant unpacking shipments, stocking shelves before open, replenishing shelves through the day, tidying and organizing each display, as well as being a backup sales associate. I learned how to independently work, and manage my time to efficiently to complete each shifts tasks. Management was strict but quick to assist in problem solving as well as teaching techniques. Workplace culture was at a quick pace, but fun and friendly. The most challenging part of the job was maintaining a clean and organized store front despite the high traffic of customers. The most enjoyable part of the job was being part of the team and throwing events for new releases, magazines, etc.

•	Resolved customer complaints by listening attentively to their needs and concerns, providing a solutions that
      Addressed their concerns, and educating customers on store policies. 
•	Assisted coworkers when needed to help complete tasks.  
•	Helped with ticketing and markdowns of products as well as handling and receiving of new merchandise.
•	Gained broad knowledge or products and services offered at Target to better serve customer enhance customer experience.
•	Guided customers and helped them find what they desired

I enjoy woking with being, and leaning new things

A typical day at work would begin with our huddle, this is when the manager spoke to the new employees that clocked in, about the day and how everything is going so far and then we would take our places, whether we were on cash, fitting rooms or kids. We always rotated. I learned how to speak professionally with costumers. I learned how to wash clothing according to their material. I loved the management, but there was no clear communication between manager and employee. The most enjoyable part of the job was coming in and seeing everyone smile. Everybody always smiled in the store. We were one big happy family.

The job will absolutely wreak havoc on your body, to an extent that you will question your ability to function at another job, keeping you stuck there. A trauma-bonding experience, especially considering the discount you obtain for working at Loblaw. That was a plus, but you will end up overlooking an incredible amount of physical abuse on the body yo justify staying. 

Expect to be cleaning piles up off floors at dizzying rates, picking clothes up off hangers, and racing around cleaning up after rude and slobbish customers who have absolutely zero respect because the merchandise is just so cheap. Your back will break from all the bending you will do over the shelves and tables.
