Our company hired Jardeg for a mid-sized refinery expansion project, and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. From the outset, the project lacked clear leadership, and there were major lapses in communication between their management team and our engineers. Timelines were repeatedly missed, with no transparency or accountability when delays occurred.

Safety protocols, which are critical in a refinery environment, were inconsistently followed. Several near-miss incidents occurred on-site, which raised serious concerns about the company’s commitment to industry safety standards. The quality of the work was also below expectations — critical welds had to be redone, and some of the equipment installations failed initial inspections.

Cost overruns were frequent, and change orders were poorly documented, often submitted after the work had already been done. It felt like they were trying to pad the invoice rather than deliver a quality project.

I would not recommend Jardeg for any refinery or industrial construction work. The lack of professionalism, quality control, and safety adherence was unacceptable.

I worked at Fish Creek through Jardeg, and while the work environment itself was okay, the overall experience was disappointing.

It felt like you couldn’t raise concerns with the foreman because any feedback seemed to be taken personally. Most of the first-year apprentices were assigned to form building, while journeymen were often left cleaning or pushing gravel, which didn’t make much sense from a training or productivity standpoint.

The company also wasn’t upfront about the expected hours or overtime opportunities. Work was much slower than advertised, and it often seemed like favoritism played a role in how work was assigned.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this as a place to work unless you’re willing to play favourites. I was hoping for a more professional and fair work environment.

Not a good place for any Transport Canada ticketed Engineers. 

-Some training you have to pay up front out of pocket, training that you don't often need offshore. 
- Went up there with high hopes of a long career, the guy they had training specifically for you was as ignorant as it gets. Don't expect any questions answered. Just stay silent until he needs you to go get something. You probably came from the boats/offshore so you "know nothing", basically.
- Would have been an alright job, if it wasn't for the above point.

Terrible workplace culture. The bigger the backstabber you are, the better chance you'll have of a promotion. They allow guys to work that show up completely intoxicated from the night before, laugh about it and don't care. They couldn't figure out that workers and management were stealing tools from site. They also couldn't figure out who was stealing thousands and thousands of dollars in scrap copper that was supposed to go to an indigenous owned business in the area. Completely incompetence in Cold Lake.

I joined this company over 15 months ago and have never been happier. They value everything I bring to the table and have allowed me to expand on my experience and encourage me to continue to grow.  All sites I work on know I am there to look after all employees and do not class any of my staff as a number.  Cannot wait to continue looking after all my fantastic sites.

Former Pipefitter for Kearl Lake.  Did outages, shutty plus maintenance .  Management and Work is unorganized.  No flights or travel with a 120 min unpaid bus ride round trip each day.    Pay roll mistake regularly happen and never in the employees favour.  Multiple times not paid for weeks after payday.  

Working in this organization is a fantastic experience. The team is incredibly supportive, and the work environment is exceptionally positive. The flexibility and emphasis on work-life balance are commendable. There are abundant learning opportunities and promising career prospects. I'm eager to continue learning and advancing my career here.

Work is extremely labour intensive. No time to take a break. Didn’t fully get trained for job. Management does not care at all. Management is all about getting steel up and tonnage. Only get 2 short breaks in a 12 hour day. No tools to do you job correctly. Workers are disrespectful to new people and will bully you

Great company to work for! I did a complete career shift coming to Jardeg and have been well supported in achieving goals, professional growth, and a rewarding new career. My colleagues are supportive and collaborative, always keeping the interests of our people at forefront.

I am so lucky to be working with such an amazing team. I feel like I am constantly learning so that I can meet my professional goals and become a better asset to Jardeg. 
During busier seasons, I know that I will have the support of my manager and team members. We are encouraged to learn from one another and there is always opportunity to grow.
