The union has created an environment where there is little opportunity to Advance. Seniority trumps all. Wages are grossly underpaid due to the CBA being signed for 10 years. They are now hiring people at the same rate as those who have been there 5 years and asking you to train them at the same wage. Your supervisors are invisible. Essentially administrators. The union will not support you unless they’re trying to save your job. This does not apply to me. Any issue I have attempted to discuss is met with “that’s what says in the book”, but they will twist the agreement to suite their needs. Don’t expect much from here. It’s a sinking ship. My guess is the Halifax based heavy operation will be broken down and contracted out after the CBA runs out in 2025. Hard work is not rewarded. Experience and capabilities do not matter. There are no rewards for achieving and no repercussions for underperforming. Therefore no incentive. When you can work somewhere for 5 years and watch a new hire walk in at the same rate it pretty tells you that you have no value to them 

I've truly enjoyed every moment so far as an employee with Jazz Aviation. I've had the opportunity to visit cities in Canada and the USA, places I may not have had the opportunity to visit before. The days can be long and you encounter unique situations regulary, so being vigilant and quick on your feet is crucial in order to be successful. My best piece of advice is to always communicate with your crew. We are all there to help each other out in any circumstance. Team work truly makes the dream work. Like any job, there are stressful moments, but a positive attitude and a taste for adventure will help ensure you have a wonderful work experience and most importantly have fun.  It's the perfect job if you love working in a fast pace environment, enjoying working with people, and would love to travel across Canada and visit some spots in the USA. 

As the largest regional airline in Canada, there are many opportunities for growth at Jazz. Whether you want to progress from First Officer to Captain, dabble in union work or management, or maybe go into the training department. Initial and recurrent training are both very thorough, and the training pilots are always focused on improving your knowledge and skills in any way they can. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes stressful, yet always professional and friendly. Although the initial pay as a First Officer is not the best (compared to larger airlines or US regionals) the collective agreement is very good in terms of health/dental benefits, vacation, and overtime opportunities. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jazz as a great place to work.

Good. Jazz Aviation was considered a good job for many in the aviation industry because it offered stability, professional growth, and a supportive work environment. As one of Canada’s largest regional airlines, it provided employees with access to a well-structured career path, especially for pilots and maintenance crews seeking to move up to major carriers. The company was known for its strong safety culture, comprehensive training programs, and adherence to industry best practices, which made employees feel confident and valued in their roles. Jazz also offered competitive pay, health benefits, and travel privileges, allowing staff to explore new destinations and enjoy work-life balance. Its collaborative atmosphere fostered teamwork between flight crews, ground staff, and management. Many employees appreciated the sense of pride in representing a respected airline that connected smaller communities to larger hubs, making a tangible impact on Canadian travel and regional connectivity.

Jazz is definitely a good company to work for. The collective agreement is x10000 better than the one at Mainline/ Rouge. They also have flight benefits, but Air Canada Mainline is keeping Jazz apart and putting their employees before Jazz crew. They always create a harmful work environment keeping the companies separated even though Jazz’s fleet is mainly all for Air Canada. Which creates tension between the employees from both companies and inequalities in the work place. Some people at Jazz have more than 35 years of seniority. Daily per diems, US per diems, guaranteed 4:30 credits, 75h min monthly and lots of opportunities. Professional crews and we are a big family! Join us. 

Working as a STOC Coordinator at Jazz Aviation is a fun and dynamic experience. It’s one of those jobs where no two days are ever the same—there’s always something new happening, and that keeps the work engaging. The fast-paced environment challenges you to think on your feet, adapt quickly, and stay sharp, which makes the days fly by.

One of the best parts is the team. For the most part, coworkers are friendly, supportive, and willing to help out when things get hectic. There’s a sense of camaraderie that makes even the busiest shifts manageable.

That said, there are a few downsides. The pay could be more competitive for the level of responsibility and workload, and upper management’s decision-making doesn’t always feel in touch with the day-to-day realities on the ground.

Overall, Jazz Aviation offers a lively, team-oriented atmosphere that’s great for those who thrive in fast-changing situations.

Very unprofessional, even in office environment. Use to be a great place to work but not any longer. The atmosphere has become very volitile due to stressful working conditions, being short staffed and not allowed to call in overtime.  Complaints and issues are unheard by upper management. 
Wages are on the lower end for maintenance compared to the industry standard. 
Medical and dental benefits are great.  Flying passes are hard to use since an Air Canada employee whos been working with the company 2 months can get a seat before me, I've been with the company 20 years. 
New people being hired are quickly leaving for other companies and people who been with the company for years are actively seeking other employment. Zero room for advancement to upper management.

After 26+ years at Jazz Aviation I have found it to be a fair employer. Working in a union environment there are always some disparities with contractual language and interpretation, but always found resolution practices were followed albeit, somewhat slow. 
Workers personal, as well as mental health and safety, is promoted and supported. Most all collective agreements assure some upward scale movement and opportunities for advancement  and job security.
The mother company, Chorus Aviation, has a balanced business model and is focused on maintaining all divisions of it's portfolio ensuring viability and sustained growth.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Family atmosphere. Especially the YUL base. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
If one gets stressed during recurrent training, it’s self inflicted. The training team was fair but firm. Grid training at Jazz. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It was a family atmosphere. There was always someone there to help, if you needed it. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Worst part was the drive to work and the parking situation at the airport. Basically get to your aircraft, meet your crew, brief the flight/day. If you set a friendly tone, the day will go great. After your flights, depending on layover time, most crew would go have dinner.

They are asking a lot of us to take time off and we don't have enough flying to say we are getting paid enough. Usually within 7 years, I would have been making more but I am stuck making the same as someone who just started. We need a lot of changes in the airline industry. I would honestly skip Jazz and go straight to mainline.. there is more job security there as we are only contracted for AC instead of being considered in the AC family 

The people are great, of course, there are a few bad apples but the company overall has amazing people to work with. I can't speak for management as I don't often interact with them nor have I ever needed help from management. I hear some good and some bad stories but every situation is different.
