This is a place that could be good to work at if you're just starting out, fresh out of high school or college. Anything further than that and it's sub-par. The salary is far too low for its location in Toronto. It doesn't even come close with the cost of living, but of course they don't care. You're just numbers to them. The benefits are okay I guess.

And you are micromanaged every single day. The training, if you could call it that is all based on looking through a wiki. A wiki which is often inconsistent and outdated for workflow. You'll always get something last minute to do or something you have no training on, so you have to rely on your colleagues who've worked on it months ago. 

And don't even get me started on the management. Poor communication from the get-go. They also don't care about your concerns. They sometimes schedule meetings but then push them back for months because they don't want to hear their employers concerns and issues. And there's LOTS of politics involved, especially favoritism for bending the knee. 

There's no room to grow there unless you play favorite and suck up to someone higher up the chain. Even then, it's no guarantee. They've made their choices when they were early on over there. But it does seem like some people there fail upwards, which is not how a company should operate. Hey JUICE! Take some notes from SHOPIFY! Visit any of their offices in Toronto and get a good look at how workplace culture should be in the 21st century. You're a tech company. Act like it. Oh well, your jobs will be automated in the next few decades, maybe even sooner. 

I also do not recommend taking the night shift. You will have insomnia. Even if you think you're a night owl, you will not endure. And the shift supervisor, who shall remain nameless, on that specific shift - is a real work of art. If you're reading this, dear shift supervisor then know this: You are awful at your job, if you can even call that "work" that you're doing. You don't deserve this position you're in. You didn't earn it. You have no leadership skills whatsoever. You're a coward and worse, a two-faced snake. There are other people on that shift who would be FAR BETTER at your job than you. 

Watch out for this one, potential future employee, because this person will cut corners, abuse their power and throw you under the bus at any opportunity to save themselves. Don't trust this supervisor at all. But if you avoid the night shift, you won't have to deal with this person. This is someone who got the job because the management at this company is so god awful that they just chose this person out of a hat because no one wanted the position. 

So overall, I had a blast working here!

Working the night shift, its pretty nice how easily you grow comfortable with things and how welcoming the people are. On top of that, the work is fairly straightforward and once you establish a rhythm its great and the people working with you can be pretty helpful.

That being said, job security is a major issue and I'm not exactly sure how any of it is determined. I did enjoy working here for the time that I have, however, it is discouraging to be getting little to no negative feedback and still end up worrying about whether you'll still have a job once the last month of your contract hits.

Overall, great place to work at and great people - working here certainly does not hurt, and you will get some good experience on your back as well as some decent potential references, however, don't come into this job expecting any kind of security or consistency, because even if you work well within this place. and even if your work reflects that, there is no guarantee that you'll actually stay past, or even towards the end of your contract duration.

When I joined the company I thought it was a startup due to the lack of established processes and company resources. 

I found out they've been operating for 12 years. 

It's a guessing game on how to run your job, you have to teach yourself. Other people will help but not often as everyone's workload is about 150% what's possible to manage due to the lack of established process. 

Everyone operates differently in order to attempt to be efficient, but it just isn't possible given the lack of direction from the upper management.

- Management is inefficient and poor at communicating

-Contractors are seen as discardable and treated as less than human

-Salaries are terrible/unlivable

-Raises are small or no existent

-A toxic rivalry exists between all shifts that management seems to promote(Day vs. Evening vs. Night)

-The company has existed for 12 years and operates like a bad startup

There is a slob that they made a team leader who just likes to swear and cuss everyone. There is no raise unless they are desperate to keep you. A lot of people you will work with are grown kids who don't know anything about the work world. This company can do a lot better if they restaff the management and had someone who can lead by example instead of being toxic 

Worked there for a year and a half. Most new employees are put on overnight shift where you'll be forgotten. Management has no idea what's going on and act like they care when they really don't. Your health/social life will start to diminish for a low-paying job. It's not worth it. Only good thing about it are the co-workers who collaboratively complain about management not knowing what they're doing.

It was okay. I just wish they paid more.  New location is nice. I like the job culture but I wish there was more space to excel . I don’t know if I started at the wrong time but everyone was leaving the time when I started. It was a sign.

It was enjoyable to work at Juice for a bit, but after a few weeks, it becomes clear that it is not something for the long run. 

No real advancement and typically the work is all the same and not much to learn.

Fun people, straightforward training and competitive pay.  I worked the night shift and that was brutal but after a couple months, I was moved to the afternoon shift which fit well for my life.

Everyone is very supportive. Get to learn a lot about broadcast and VOD. Only issue is there is no transfer to full time. Always contracting. Supervisors and Seniors are good!
