The company's values are lived into by everyone on the team, especially at the National level. Deep care, respect, a commitment to diversity and inclusivity and constantly checking in with each other to ensure every decision that's made is reflective of the company's values.

I'm frequently surprised by the amount of agency every team member has - this is as much reflective of the caliber of people that are employed at Just Like Family, as it is the management style. Folks routinely step up, and are given the grace and leeway to do so.

This will sound cheesy but I truly believe that Just Like Family is one of the "good guys" who are genuinely trying to bring about positive change in an aspect of our society that so desperately needs it. Do they always get it right? Not always, but they always take each opportunity (that I have seen anyway) to take learnings away and come back with new solutions or approaches.

My experience working with JLF so far has been nothing short of extraordinary. Management is respectful, communicative and professional. They truly make you feel like part of the family. The companies dedication to providing high quality care to their clients is evident and admirable. The companies emphasis on communication and teamwork has created a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and heard. Additionally, the training provided was comprehensive and ongoing, ensuring that I felt confident and prepared in my role. The feedback from clients has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the impact of our work on their lives. Overall, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with such a fantastic care company and would highly recommend them to anyone seeking care services.

This team is all about professional development. There are opportunities to be promoted within, and grow with the company. They really pride themselves on best practices and really being a collaborative and kind social enterprise.  The most enjoyable part of the job is everyone comes from different career backgrounds and has their own skill set to add to keep making JLF better and better and the fact we have the same values of wanting to give back to our community and our seniors.  One thing to mention is the work life balance is very good. This is what made me sign on with them- knowing that we're in a human business and that your mental health and well-being is the main priority which is super important in the home & community care field. 

A typical work day is great as the company matches you with clients that fit your personality and it makes it not only fun but easier.  I have learned through care academy how to recover after a client passes and so much more.  Management is fair and treats everyone just like family.  Work place culture is respect and transparency. The is no hardest part we are all trained to do this work that is honourable.  The management and clients are the best part along with truly helping others. 

It is a great place to work, workers are treated with respect and dignity. They care genuinely about their staffs, it is a positive work place. Workers are allowed to pick up extra shifts as needed. Staff independence and loyalty is supported. They are willing approachable and show support for their staffs. Although shifts can be temporary a lot of the time.

The human being is at the core of the Caretaker job with Just Like Family.  Feeling welcomed by the company fosters the right attitude towards the client, and that maintains the vital cycle going.  The hardest part is the unpredictability of human behaviour, and that is inherent to the nature of the job; however, the gratitude shown on the client's face after tending them kindly is priceless.

All about the money for the owners, not the staff. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Narcissistic franchisees that gouge clients and don’t pay what staff are worth.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible because it’s a top down organization at the franchisee level.  Outside business experience and ideas are unwelcome.

some of the staff  are relly compassionate and hard working

Lack of direction, management never listening to needs of workers

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
everyone is always angry or upset at coworkers or management. No training for inexperienced hirees.  high expectations for low pay. no culture, no team anything

I felt respected and treated well during my time with this company they treat staff well they just lack clientele that need full-time care so therefore getting 40hr week near impossible. Most shifts 2-3 hrs making evening meal,  hygiene or both.  If you want 40hr work week look elsewhere.

Schedules are very flexible and the staff are accommodating.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
None. It's a stress-free environment.

Every day is productive and purposeful.
