From the start of the day till its end the clients and their needs are no 1 and delivering the best quality for personal development is very important.
Also flexibility is a key instrument in working with the clients as their needs change every day. My typical day includes Teaching and facilitating 4 classes a day..all classes are by choice and they come to class with a smile and ready to learn.
Organizing and preparation are very important to a successful flow of learning and interaction. Clients are included in tasks on a regular basis to make them feel and be a part of the bigger picture-we are a family that teaches each other new things every day.
A buddy help system is set up for those who request help with their papers etc. We use whatever it takes to facilitate learning life lessons, power point, visuals, paperwork, demonstrations, white board, hands on, discussions, special speakers, and role play.
The days fly by very fast and at the end of that day..very rewarding because progress is made on an individual basis and that includes one on one counsel for some. Staff here work together for the benefit of each client as well.
The hardest part of the job is when people get stuck, and frustrated because they cant go any further, and they desperately want too and another is the injustices and rejection society still enforces on them.

I worked in the kitchen in the mornings because both days are very important days to keep everything organized and cleaned and also get everything ready for both breaks and lunches, If they need me in the after 1st break they let me know if we have low staff in the kitchen, On Fridays is fun Friday I ask my supervisor I can go to art in the morning because I need to keep my good my good sketch hand perfectly. I wanted to learn about Management but my last job I used to work never taught me anything about Managements and costumer services but I really want to learn both things I don't know how to learn. My most hardest part of the job is bosses keep telling me what to do too much and thinks I'm worthless but I am never give up looking for important job I wanted to save up money to go to college and go my dream vacation. My most enjoyable of the is helping people I wanted to become a hero, serve and protect.

Management doesn't ever really know whats going on with the clientele. Seems like the clients are just paychecks to them and they're best interests are not put first. Clients who shouldn't be doubled up together are, because of social development, and clients who need more support don't get it because of funding and this and that. Very political vs what's actually best for our vulnerable clients. A lot of the staff create dependence rather than independence with clients and that seems encouraged by supervisors and management. Seems like management has 0 training or experience with human servises and cares more about business and money. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not sure how the keys center is but the residential workers are overworked,underpaid and not managed very well.  Also don't let you take any of your time off.  Pretty toxic place to work if you ask me.  The residents are great it's the management that really needs work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Trying to get ahold of management.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The residents are great but management is never there, there isn't enough staff and they treat their employees terribly.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I could relax and do my Job. I had many good Friends and enjoyed my time there.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When I worked on the Telephone sometimes I would get multiple calls and I patiently answered them till finished.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Relaxed Joyful Happy Patient. Sometimes We went for Walks around the South End for Relaxation and stopped at Tim Horton's for Coffee.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I met up to friendly greetings and the rest of the day went by fast.

Key Industries has great staff and clients. It is a delight being there. I enjoyed meeting new people and finding new experiences there.


They have many great activities and learning experiences for the clients; however, my personal favorite has to be the Life Skills classes, where clients can learn anything they need to know in life. 

Overall, Key Industries is a great company that I strongly recommend to others.

PS: I still like to volunteer there sometimes.

The work environment is very clicky and not very welcoming to new employees

A typical day @ work is folding and sorting clothing and othe items then packing and shipping them.  I learned time management & organizational skills.  The culture at Key Industries is somewhat friendly.  The hardest part of the job is working with co-workers that test you.  The most enjoyable part of the job is that there are incentives.

Terrible upper management.  They will work you to death in their various enterprises and they pay it all separately to avoid paying overtime.  No paid sick time. Only heath and dental insurance.  Worst policy I have ever seen for beverment.  Only 2 hrs paid and only for immediate family you live with.

It’s a big family and you get to make a difference in the lives of many clients

There is none each day is a fun and joyful experience

Exciting! Culture friendly you get to have fun while helping and making a difference
