What is the best part of working at the company?
Working with different units , clients, staffs and gain experience is one of the best part of this company.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part of this company is that when clients have crisis, dealing with other staffs that doesn’t like to work with you, scheduling will call you to extend your shift or to do doubles because of staff shortage all in just one day.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
work environment it depends on the day some days are not too stressful some days are very stressful. It depends on which unit are you working behavioural and care units have different stress levels. just be prepared all the time because as a new casual employee you’ll be moved to different units either behavioural or care units. Dealing with staffs and client is not an easy job you have to be tough as much as possible it is mentally and physically draining. It is not for everybody. You have to be mentally and physically prepared every time during your scheduled shift.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
My typical day is that you have to be mentally and physically prepared all the time, because you’ll be dealing with clients that has different personalities and behaviours and staffs as well. Bullying and gossips is all over the place  so just be mindful of your surroundings.

The clients are wonderful, management and HR are far from. Upper management can do and say whatever they want and there is no accountability held to them by the HR department. Management don’t care about the staff or client well-being. Clients fall through the cracks and don’t receive the care they need and deserve because management don’t listen to the concerns of staff. Management bullies their staff into working ridiculous hours and working in incredibly unsafe environments. When staff express their concerns for safety, management shrug the concerns off and make staff feel like they can’t refuse unsafe work. Management also continually downplay serious occurrences and place blame on everyone else instead of addressing issues they themselves have created. Unless you’re looking to have your mental health entirely corrupted, I would not recommend KRRC to anyone looking for employment. Staff are overworked, underpaid, and incredibly under appreciated. Upper management are there for the paycheque and not to provide support for the clients or staff.

Although Kings has experienced some difficult times recently, I feel that we are getting back on track.  The majority of staff are positive and pleasant to work with and really care about the clients and the well being of their co-workers.  Unfortunately some managers/directors can be the cause of unhappiness in the workplace but overall Kings Rehab is a good place to work, co-workers are wonderful.  Wages and benefits are good.  It is a special place with special people.

Clients are amazing to work with, management on the other hand is horrible. They don't care about their frontline staff or clients and are only in it for themselves. You will always work short staff, do more than expected and get 0 recognition for your hard work. Lazy workers go unpunished, hard workers go unnoticed. Management is clueless on what is happening to this place. They hire inexperienced persons who know nothing about mental health for some reason, and not to mention the drama from co staff is unbelievable. You're treated as a number here and it really shows.

There is a wide variety of personalities that work at KRRC, it isn't for everyone.  Some of the management are borderline bullys but most are fair.  Staff can at times be negative and feel unfairly treated and in some cases this is true but I feel that most are treated with respect.  I have found that at times I have felt both, bullied and respected.  I feel it is a good place to work and co-workers are generally supportive and like to work as a team.  It is a place to help others, work together and make a difference.

9/10 times you’ll be working with cool staff who make the work day a little more enjoyable (minus the odd apple - every workplace has them). Overtime is basically available every week so you can make quite a bit of money. 12 hour shifts sound horrible but after a couple months you just get used to them. Only real con about working here is management, they’re out of touch with the front line workers and what it’s really like, very little empathy and god forbid you call-in sick more than 3 times a year. 

Worked there for 20 years, and the last 10 years was Terrible.They have no respect for their employees, A LOT of favoritism and nepotism. All units work short almost every day. I would not recommend anyone to apply for or work there. The mental stress will break you, and this is due to an over abundance of managers. None are accountable for anything.  I gave up a lot when I left and went to New Visions, with absolutely NO regrets..

Loved making a difference in the lives at the clients who reside at the Centre .  Some days were more challenging than others, but every day was a wonderful success because we made a positive difference in the clients lives .

While the pay is good for the area, the mental toll this organization takes on people over weighs how much it's 'worth' working there. At times, I feared for my safety, co-workers tend to bully newly hired staff, and you'll usually be asked to work doubles. Also, be prepared to ALWAYS being under-staffed to. While I won't tell anyone not to work here, I simply suggest doing some research before applying; I wish I had.

Great clients. Good hours. Good pay. Good benefits

Lots of gossip among staff. Many avoid work. People call in sick a lot.

Typical small option home work.

Very busy. Lots of tasks. Schedules. Routines.
