Kinsmenlodge is a complex facility with over 100 residents provide loving and holistic care to Elders with complex care ,health needs in a home that respects cultural diversity and the right of Elders to make personal choices in the lives with Eden Alternative -principle based philosophy to transform to care into community where life is worth living  serving Elders in the Surrey community located at 9650. 137 A Street.rigth across from Surrey Memorial Hospital in Surrey.

The place is overall good, with respect to the residents and the staff. There are staff that are out of their minds sometimes probably they could not handle their jobs and cannot balance life and work but thats their problem and has nothing to do with the facility. I enjoyed working here I get lots of hours , support, as well as encouragement from the nurses I worke with.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing its a all false and they do not practice the philosophy they say they do

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No transparency.  False expectations and bullying

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not good staff are bullied and will not speak out as no one listens

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
stressful as no one know how management will support them.

It was a great place to work at kinsmen. The staff were very nice and friendly and very collaborative team work. Management was very nice and helpful when needed. The salary was based on BCNU wages which was fair. Overall was a great experience, it just wasn’t my kind of setting. I did love the staff and the residents that I was caring for! 

Rushing all the time.  Elder and CA ratio is not balance.  My goal to provide holistic care to the elder is compromise due to lack of time.  Working with my colleagues is superb.  I have a great team.

•	Scanned and organized medical files of over 15-20 residents (discharged and active) on a daily basis
•	Assisted Resident Care Clerk with work overflow (e.g. files organization of thinned binder/charts of active residents)
•	Reception relief on as needed basis

Close knit team.  Lots of support and management genuinely cares about the staff - they are always available and often do fun things for staff like meals or skits.  It is busy but everyone really cares for the Elders.  Lots of hugs and no scrubs! 

everyone was working for themselves it was not a team environement and because of this residents were often left alone and with out supervision because if the resident wasnt on their side the other aides wouldnt help you

nice place to gain experience volunteering. some staff were not the nicest, but volunteer head coorindator was awesome. it was great working with friendly people.

Co-workers are helpful and management is understanding to staff needs. Staff are trained on a daily basis to deal with different situations. Good company
