One week there is no work at all, then the next we are asked to work mad overtime to get products done, just to see them sit in the yard for several weeks after completion. 
Equipment and tools don't get any maintenance, and when things finally break the operators get blamed. 
The people on the shop floor are great, the office staff is completely disconnected to what is needed to make the product. 
There are production planers and engineers that never once walked around the shop to know what is actually being done and what tooling is available.
Anyone who speaks up with complaints or suggestions of improvements is soon after laid off.

Good pay, overtime but culture is poisonous.  Safety they talk the talk but fail at doing the walk. Management has favorites and no advancement. They do not seem to appreciate hard work and personal sacrifices to insure quality and job completion.   They speak of safety culture but whenever a concern is made no follow up is taken.  Very poor management in the fort mcmurray location I feel komatsu is a great organization as a whole but higher up is un aware of the lack of leadership at this location.

Safety culture is decent. Good practices. If you aren’t a buddy to the buddies you’ll probably not last.  Poor apprentice training. Hard for ppl who started with no experience , and require actual training and knowledge passing.  A business still having growing pains. 

Very difficult if you like an orderly workplace. From day to day things like running around for tools, to hearing different instructions from all different levels of management, it can be frustrating. Good group of guys, however it needs to be more organized 

Great group of people to work with, job was relaxed at times and busy at others, pretty usual for this type of work.

Five years of poor management backed by poor HR literally drove this place into the ground.

Pay was far less than it should have been for the area.



Place keeps you busy. All ways something to do, people that work with you are very good to get along with, very fast pace on most days. Worked there for awhile and then without reason I was fired,

Overall one of the better companies I've worked for. Great pay and benefits.
Some minor political bs between the team leads. Would highly recommend to someone looking to get their foot in the door to the Oil Sands


Had colleagues who were willing to teach and there is room for growth as well. overall had a good experience working there and Sudbury is a great place if you prefer relatively less crowds and city life bustle

too many issues with little to no solutions. no process improvement. poor inter*plants communication and/or coordination. Nice salary and benefits. good work/life baance.
