Afternoon shift finishing line was never consistent in pace. Some days were slow, others were forced at a fast pace. (To many part with extra work in a row causing pile ups.) If you did well and were able to get ahead a bit, you were sent to others parts of the line to help, while having to maintain your own area. Have had to personally keep pieces sanded, help a sprayer, glaze, and assist the co sander who fell behind frequently. Failing to keep up was met with utter disrespect and a reminder of how to do my job by the supervisor. months on end the afternoon shift was cut to 3-4 days a week with either short days of a TON of sweeping and cleaning, while seeing workers on days pull OT. Going home sick was met with glares, and questioning. No chance for moving up, unless someone retired. this led to multiple incidents of not running the line on afternoons if people were sick. We ran with half staff on high pace most days and any stopping of the line was met with accusations of laziness. The workforce all have an air of contempt for the place (as did i). When water ran out from the cooler (fountains had been removed from the area) Management ordered an employee to fill it from maintenance tap... after the rust stopped coming out of course. A member of our area passed out when the heat hit 40c and was told by the supervisor (who was our medical) He was fine to return to work, and was in no need to see a doctor. After personally being injured on the job, due to overworked shoulder, i was put on light duty and given glares from the management for not talking to them about what i could do instead of a doctor. When a pipe leaked near one of the oven it spewed flames out the side in the finishing area. Our safety staff was not instructed where the fire alarm button was. and when she evacuated the booth and surrounding area was scolded. We were then informed ONLY management were to use the alarm, and we were not to leave our area unless they SPECIFICALLY told us it was an emergency. 

This company has cut staff more than once, is a horrible atmosphere, has little to no room to grow, and cares little for worker safety or well being. Please look elsewhere.

Working at Krug furniture was a great experience, i got to make lots of great friends and learn lots about everything from the start to the finish product.  The hours were great but the pay was ok, you were given a regular pay plus commission which was based on how fast you could build products.  But there was a lot of discrepancies on that portion.  Some people were making a guarantee of 40% on top of their wages but were slow as heck. The reason they got that commission rate was based on old factors. The whole pay system was kind of messed up.  the work was pretty easy but challenging. Hot as heck in the summer and cold as ice in the winter, no heating system at all.
  The good thing was that was a lot of great people to work with, the downfall was there was a lot of bosses and management that had no idea what they were doing and couldn't manage to see where the main problem were there.  HR was no help either, in the 6 years there i had seen 7 different HR personnel go through that office.  
 Promotions was never a case for employees that were smart and knew what they were doing but were turned over for promotions. Instead they would promote or alternate supervisors and lead hands to change things up but that just lead to the same screw ups in departments.
  When i first started we had great profit sharing options, Lunches, Oktoberfest lunches, christmas parties, golf tournaments and gifts given out to employees from suppliers, but that seemed to all disappear.

I can't see this place lasting very long especially with cheaper products being made faster over seas, and Krug not really using top of the line quality sources for its lines.  Not to mention they are using equipment that is a minimum of 40+ years old with no upgrades to keep up with demand.

 Krug needs to hire someone that sees these things and can fix them rather then hide everything.  They need to incorporate Lean manufacturing, Kaizen groups and utilize more 5S around their plant to help save money and waste.

This is a a profit-sharing company. As such, it means money and profit is the single most important thing to management. It also means they are letting people go while expecting everyone else to pick up the slack and perform to the same standard (if not exceed). A person may be doing jobs of 3 people with same pay and they think productivity and results will remain the same. Absolutely mind boggling logic. This is not sustainable, but what do I know? 

On top of that, there is a severe lack of communication. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing, so to speak. There are a total of 4 plants so you can imagine what transpires on a daily basis from no communication. Not to mention the lack of organization that follows suit. 

Purchasing also waits until the last minute to order items, then if the items don't immediately and magically appear, management starts freaking out. It explains why production is months behind. You know the definition of insanity? Well, this is a prime example of that. 

All in all, it's a place I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Asides from some friendly employees, there are no redeeming values at this place whatsoever. You'll be better off virtually anywhere else.

Like any fast-paced manufacturing environment, the most stressful part can be managing multiple priorities and tight timelines, especially during busy periods. However, the teamwork and support from colleagues help make challenges manageable and create a positive working atmosphere.

The work environment at Krug Furniture is friendly and team-oriented. People are supportive and willing to help each other, which makes the workplace feel welcoming. It can get busy at times, but overall it’s a positive environment where everyone works together and respects one another.

A typical day is usually busy and fast-paced, with a mix of teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Working as a product engineering technician at Krug  has been a mixed experience. While there are some positives, overall, my time here has been disappointing .

Pros:

Learning Opportunities: The job provided ample opportunities to learn about furniture manufacturing .
Team Collaboration: I enjoyed collaborating with colleagues on various projects. The people working at Krug are great.

Cons:

Management Communication: There is a significant lack of clear communication from upper management regarding company goals and expectations.

Career Growth: Limited opportunities for career advancement and professional development. 
compensation:  The salary offered for the role  is below industry standards, which has been a significant drawback and contributed to overall dissatisfaction with the job.
Work Environment:  At times, the work environment felt tense and demotivating due to unclear directives and inconsistent support.
Overall Impression:
While Krug Inc offered valuable learning experiences, especially in technical aspects, the organizational communication and career growth opportunities were lacking. I hope there will be improvement in fostering a more supportive and transparent work environment.

The only redeeming quality in this place is that the co worker are solid people. On paper and in the interview it seems like a great company. 
Other than that, be prepared for some of the worst management imaginable. You will be treated like a slab of meat especially if you are assigned to a job with piece work. Unless you're a parolee or this is otherwise your only option, don't bother. Their wages are abysmal and they will fight you over every little thing. Doing overtime is a nightmare because payroll routinely forgets to pay you and even then there's only a 50/50 chance they properly rectify the situation. This place is not going to take care of you and recently they've been routinely denying piecework to people, some of whom have been there 30 years. It gets worse by the year. Luckily I found a new job but they will bully you out of every penny they can. All I learned from this place is that there is no way I'm going to spend my life being treated that way by a penny pinching management that is crippling the company and causing a lot of good people to leave. Only apply if you need a quick job and plan on finding something better.

This is a very toxic place to work at. They expect you to learn everything on your own. What they call training is just to mask that they train. The material to learn as a Sales Person is very intense and extesive. They say you have six months but expect you to know it in 4 months. When mistakes are made they scold you through harsh emails and although this is supposed to be team work, and it might have been someone else's mistake, if your name is on the Quote you are the one scolded for it. Management is very bad and disorganized, they dont recognize their own errors and when you start talking about problems or issues, they begin the process of firing you. No one is willing to help and you gradually learn you are on your own. You are forced to make decisions that are supposed to be made from a higher department and then scold you for making the wrong decision.The pay could be better for the mental stress you got through. Raises are not common and mostly everyone will tell you they haven't had one in years. Moreover there is a lot of secrecy and talk behind your back rather than professionally meeting with you to adress issues and solutions.

Krug is a great workplace, if you are looking for career growth and job stability this is the place for you. 

It's a  friendly work environment, the people are nice, helpful, it gives us a sense of belonging  and its the reason for having many long term service workers.

Krug is a diverse and inclusive company, we have employees from different races, nationalities, majority women office workers , they also support coop students,  accommodation is provided to people with disability etc. there is lots of opportunities for growth, management  and HR are supportive.

Benefit package is fairly good, they cover:  dental, medical  other professional services like massage etc.  STD, LTD, Life & Death Insurance, Pension. In addition there is Suggestion Rewards, Tuition Reimbursement , Profit sharing, Employee Wellbeing Program, they offer 65% discount when staff purchase inhouse products.

Krug has offered me a rewarding career opportunity, job security  and i am grateful for this.

My experience at Krug was a roller coaster. I worked there for roughly 4 years about 2 1/2 of which was working in engineering after being promoted from machine operator. From day one I was told not to stay by fellow coworkers, people on the floor had strong feelings toward upper and middle management. It was unorganized, unclean and at time unsafe to work in the machine room or assembly areas. When I entered engineer my pay did not change only an slight increase with benefits with little pay increase throughout the years. I was told this was the case with coworker who had 10+ years experience. The work was again unorganized and extremely stressful and fast paced using software from the 90s, which lead to errors and constant mistakes, which at times would lead to blaming of other departments and complete lack of communication. The only good thing was the workers themselves who keep the company head above water despite the work environment.

I am sad to say that a once great place to work has been nearly destroyed by a combination of indifference and mistaking malignant narcissism for management skills. The boss seldom shows his face in our plant, instead putting in place a team of suck-ups who will implement whatever will suit the bottom line. There is no regard to the welfare of the employees. I don't know how some of them are surviving as our pay cheques are continually eroding with no raise in sight. I have had exactly two raises over nine years, and at times have needed a second part-time job. The part-time jobs I've held have always given annual increases, but Krug seems dead set against paying us a living wage. It's despicable and outrageous given how expensive things are these days. The only saving grace are those among us who are wonderful talented people. Krug does not deserve to have them as employees. Only work here if you are desperate for a job.
