- typical day at work is watching your back because they enjoy nothing more than handing out discipline for even the smallest mistake regardless of accidental or not. then standing outside in the elements waiting for a bus to take you back to camp because after multiple years of requesting refuge from the weather its ignored. then being fed the same food they served for years most of it being repurposed left overs cleverly disguised as stir fry. 
- new dry with already disgusting showers
- training department cares more about orientation of new employees due to high turn around and instead dump the training on the workers where training is fast tracked so both employees can move on. 
- a union firmly in the pocket of the company and rolls over whenever management makes another ridiculous decision concerning their employees. 
- good workforce because you have to have a strong back to deal with the weight of pressure.
- good benefits
-terrible travel pay. when flight costs went up,  promises were made to adjust. never happened.
- the hardest part of the job is staying motivated when you are constantly being beat down by management. knowing you and your crew are producing good numbers and hearing its not good enough. dealing with poorly maintained equipment from an understaffed/poorly managed mechanical department.
-the most enjoyable part of the job is going home after 14 days of depression.

if you are wondering how can the management be this bad? here is an example. if you shut down your equipment literally 7 minutes early they will dock your pay accordingly regardless if you have worked over that time on a different day (dont expect them to pay you the 7 minutes you work beyond their desired work times). if you forget to tag in and try to correct it expect 3 days off unpaid, forced to leave the site where the closest accommodations are a 1.5 hour drive away and no offer to take you there but security will be eager to escort you off property asap. it used to be 8 days until the union was so overwhelmed with complaints and 10+ employees were already disciplined that they were forced to take action. if this happens discipline progression is also jumped forward to the point of the 3 days off. so youre next mistake is 5 days off regardless of past history. if you decide to fight it expect it to take a year and paint the target you just put on your back yourself because if not theyll do it for you. extremely vindictive management.

-All of the senior management needs to be fired. They have gotten away with recent horrific events that other companies would have taken immediately action upon and dismissed those responsible. They talk about job culture like they care but their actions prove otherwise and actually make it worse.
-If you like to be disrespected and treated as another number then this is the place to be.
-If you like to see a company with the highest turnover rate in canada (due to firing) then this is the place to be.(Not sure that how they figure that many people need to be terminated)
-All the supervisors have to toe the line and live with the gross incompetence of the upper management and are eventually used as scapegoats to save the skin of those above
-If you like to eat the same old food every day then this is the place for you to be.

little understanding of indigenous culture, right and their  responsibilities as business operating in traditional territory of regional First Nations. Felt hire as indigenous employee was tokenism vs. company wide commitment to educating employees, executive and really developing relationships with all FNs in the region.

Good schedule. Good place to work for a bit and then leave. They sell you everything during the interview but nothing materializes once there. No training or professional development at all unless you are in the old boys club. Do not have an opinion or speak up, just drink the koolaid 

Great workforce. Terrible management. The ones that aren’t fired will eventually quit. Huge turnover. After your shift you get to enjoy a shower in a new undersized Dry. Then get to stand outside in 30 below temps while waiting for bus. 

Watch your back and know how to follow everything by the book while being productive. Follow everything to a T. If supervisor was yelled at during the morning meeting, expect to have a man hunt to find someone to throw under the bus at any given time.

Great mine layout with highly productive crew. Typical work schedule for a fly-in fly-out camp in northern Ontario. Camp is clean and quiet at night. Recently went through good management change. Training was on-the-job.

there are no typical days underground its an enviroment that you always have to be aware of.. i love what i do i've been mining for 4 in the half years and i will always be learning new thing ...

Hard and it was 12 hrs a day  general help preparing for the next day making sure others are on time for next croft shift driving is hard in winter on gravel roads. Stay safe

They manage by putting fear into employees.
Company has no reflection - blame employees all the time. 
Union sucks! 
They fire good people all the time.
