Enbridge lives and breaths safety that being said they hire contractors and pay them per job meaning in order to make the bug bucks you would have to spend 20-30 min per job and that. Isn’t even enough time to get out go look at the job come back to van and get what you need a natural gas delivery company who preaches safety first as it should be as one mistake a lot of bad things could happen and people may be dead. Working as a contractor with no Benifit package offered Enbridge should be ashamed of themselves no pension nothing they just got greedy cause they run ontario if you want to work on this side  of the gas spectrum I don’t know what to tell you cause Enbridge won’t hire you alll they do is hire people if people or sons snd daughters of the hire ups cause when you work for the company you get good pay good benifits all tools and vehicle is supplied to you and you can safely retire there and not be worried.  

HR doesn't do a good job.
Lots of gossip.
Be prepared to be backstabbed by your team, they pretend to be friendly and nice and when you least expect it they will be judging and talking behind your back. 
Supervisors are fooled by employees. 
Old employees pretend to work but they're gossiping, chatting, eating.
Punching system is the only good thing about this place. Employees adjust their times and HR gets easily fooled. You'll get paid for lying. There is no control.
Be prepared to be undermined. 
Company pays for only 30 minutes of break the other 30 minutes you don't get paid but you are forced to take it as 15 minutes of break in the morning and the other 15 in the afternoon. 
You are supposed to be trained, then turns out you gotta learn on your own.


Started good and straight down hill after.  Management lies a lot.  Contract is very vague and conflicting on payments.  Management says 'you have to do on call' but it is not  in the your contract.  A lot of 'free' time and non billable time is expected.
Training is the worse I ever seen for a licensed trade.  
A lot of the gas fitters are illiterate in the trade, no field experience, and lack skills and knowledge as an inspector.  
Management will not give you an answer is writing.  Often change you work schedule.  Work load is very slow and unless you want to work 10-12 hr days you do not make much money.
Oh, and remember you are a self employed contractor...money looks good until you do your taxes.


What is the best part of working at the company?
They pay pretty well. But you have to be fast at installing new meters. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They want to work you night and day. If you do night shift for emergencies, they expect you to be out in the morning 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Backstabbing is rampant at the company. One contractor will try to get on bosses hood side for better paying jobs 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
They put your jobs on a tablet and start calling you all hours of the day. If you are doing calls instead of meter swap outs, some calls cost money to take care of

The pay is literally just above the poverty line. The line "Compensation review after probation" is a lie. They will not increase your hourly pay. 
It's pretty much a minimum wage job. 

They even prohibit you from being on your cell phone to even send a text. You get a stern talking to if you do. Meanwhile management has their phone out all shift long.

If you get a job offer, you should literally only be here as a transitionary period, keep applying to other jobs until you get a better job offer. Leaving this job was the best decision ever. I'm making almost double the pay at my new job. 


Lakeside is overall an amazing workplace. I found my footing quite quickly despite being a strange work terrain. Training was intense but very enlightening as I got help with everything I needed to hit the ground running. I got all the support also from my supervisor and colleagues. 
The work culture is solid. I undoubtedly put in the work even on my worst days. 
I have also enjoyed warmth from people within the office space, making friends with people within and beyond my department. 

Working for lakeside will be an excellent experience opportunity while in the office, looking from the outside in as a field operator. Your workload is a non stop fast pace environment where your taking calls and filing field operations orders. Your skills required durning irate customers are a daily occurrence. Working along side helping employees when they can and delivery orders to field operators, corrections and direction on how too. 

Used to be a lot better but now
- They watch you like big brother
- You’re only allowed to do a maximum of 44 hours (no overtime)
- Don’t get on the bad side of the H.R department (trust me)

At the very least most of the crew are friendly and the supervisors are nice for the most part. Very laid back and masculine culture in the warehouse which is nice 

But unless you’re a contractor your options for making money will be pretty limited due to them limiting how much you can work. A good company to get your foot in the door with though 

I have been working with lakeside for about 2 years now. Very productive and uplifting environment lakeside have. 

Fortunate to work with very great leaders, and great team members.

If one encounter any problem, everyone including management is very helpful to resolve any issues.

Honestly, don't waste your time working for this company. This company has no loyalty. Management has no idea what there doing when it comes to fabrication. HR will not have your back. This company has managers that enjoy staying out the way and never comes around to ensure things are ran smoothly unless there in crisis mode. They hire unqualified employees that don't know what there doing, expect you to train them to then turn around and let you go to save a couple bucks.
