Well.. lakeside plastics, its hard work dor average money.  Benefits were great management sucks. Working there is like being in a sweatshop. Some of the people you work with are great and they turn into family. Then there are the other ones who put a knife in your back. The union sucks, !  The job stability is not good . Worked there for 10 years. You have to ask to go to the bathroom you feel like a child.  If your machine breaks down start cleaning pick up a broom. Supervisors are hit and miss. If you are a woman they dont like to let you advance...
If you are a man have at it. 
Because of lakeside i bought my first home, and it did give me great work experience to move on in life. 

If you like standing at a machine for 8 hrs work there.   You cant even go to the washroom til u get relieved.  
Lots of women.   You have to pay for your ppe.   And also tools you use are taken off your cheque.   

Training could be better.   You get placed on a machine and are excpected to keep up.    When some longtime employEes cant keep up.  

It seems the company is growing.   But can they sustain this in the longterm.   I think there will be a big layoff by november.   The 100 new hires wont have enough hours to collect EI.  

Benefits are good. Pay is adequate.

The owner is not friendly at all. Walks threw the plant and can't even say good morning how are you doing or anything! Not a very good place to work for hourly or salary. For salary you have to work fifty hours a week and only get paid for forty hours. There is no pay for overtime. Instead you would get a day off. Big deal! I worked there for a number of months then got called in the HR office one day and was let go. No warning just that they were downsizing and the company was loosing money. Hows that for being dedicated!!!!!
I would not recommend anyone to work there!! They use you and abuse you then let you go!!!

Good atmosphere amongst the employees. Employee and management relationship is mostly good. Most people enjoy helping others with learning the jobs, and helping others catch up when they fall behind. Hot in the summertime. You get 5 minute heat breaks, when the temperature hits a certain degree and humidity combination; supervisors have a tool to measure it. You usually get to work at a different job every day, with different people.

Attention to details, and task completion is critical.  Most days were quite busy and multi-tasking was a constant.  I was very impressed with the daily procedures that I was introduced to by my boss.  It was a totally different atmosphere that I had been used to.  Once I fell into place, I thoroughly enjoyed my position there. I had the most fun in negotiating pricing with the vendors to save the company money.

they hire mass of people and then they let go of most by the 90 working days contract they hire 100 's and keep only a hand full with no real reason. its like working in a sweat shop  Management treat employees with no respect  don't leave a stable jobs with the hopes of making it here because the chances are you will end up out of a job and on UI thats if you can collect it  most employees here are great to work with

working with fools and idiots. backstabbers and pr!cks

terrible. second worst place I ever worked.

Being humiliated by a know nothing boss.

Lakeside does not care about employees. One owner only wants to make money. Union reps are a joke. The only way to advance is thru seniority and you can't even get on days without working there for 15 years. Even tho that shift loses money every week because of poor workmanship.

Through the eight years or so I was there. I felt that we were a close knit company. We worked as a Team. We had some nice celebrations for holidays. Lakeside was always ahead of the rest with Innovations, and always had the "whatever it takes" approach to the work. 

very strict on minimum hours worked, difficult to go to appointments during core hours unless you book vacation - management staff difficult to work with - trust issues throughout company - staff on "pins and needles" most of work week.
