I wake up at 6 am and drive the bus to my first stop, then I keep my time between stops. I  always maintain a safe speed between runs.Usually I am on time; however, on few occasions, I get a little behind due to changes in road conditions like heavy snow and Fog. In the end, I arrived at the school safely. Then during the afternoon, I begin the same run backwards, final destination each student home. 

I have learned to manage my time between runs. Furthermore, I have learned that despite the importance of being on time, more important is to arrive at final destination safely.  

In addition, I have learned how to handle disability people, according to company standards.

In regards to workplace culture, I have a positive image about employer, colleagues and Management, Langs Bus is a very multicultural Company that I am very proud of.

The hardest part of the Job is to maintain aggressive children under control.

The most enjoyable part of the Job is that you get to pay for driving. I love driving and helping people, it gives me a lot of satisfaction.

I enjoy working with children and disable people.

They treat their employees nice and respect when you have an appointment they work with you

When you have to drive in some bad weather 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
You drive a school
Bus alone so you have to be able to work independently and get the route done without being told what to do and how to fill out your log book each day. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I get up leave home by6:30 am go do morning run home by 8:30 am do whatever I want and back on bus at 2:15pm till 4:15pm and then park bus in my yard because I live on farm I can bring it home.

It's a daily challenge to problem solve with special needs children, hoping to get them to school and home safely and happy. Each child and day is different, that's what keeps you on your toes, keeps your mind sharp. The hardest part is no extra training or getting together with other monitors, would so help with problem solving. Eg. recognizing all types of seizures, behaviour issues in autism, ADD, etc.... If your doing it for recognition, your in it for the wrong reasons, the drivers get it all by the company. You can't be afraid of bodily fluids or the odd pinch, punch, kick or verbal assaults, many times the kids have only one way to communicate fear or anger. But the hugs, smiles, and chatter are worth it all.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great support staff. The kids ! Good part-time wage with 3 bonuses per year. Summers off. All school holidays off with pay.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Winter driving. Bad drivers. Those are the only 2 I can think of

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Generally very friendly, positive and friendly 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I drive my high school  route and then drive my elementary school route. Im home by 9 am.I have 5 hours to myself before I pick up the students at high school and then pickup at elementary school. I'm home by 4pm.

Most days I really enjoyed going to work.some days were more stressful than others but on the whole i really enjoyed the kids so much..I learned that each child is very special. & even if i could get a smile or a giggle it just made my day. Management were very good.They had a really great work place culture..The hardest part of the job was the last day of school Knowing  how much i was going to miss them..  The most  enjoyable part of the job was  interacting with the kids weather it was  singing to them or talking to them playing little games with the kids.

I’m a school bus driver, I work 2 split shifts told  3 1/2 hours a day. I drive both elementary and high school students. I’m immensely enjoying it and my kids are great.   The pay isn’t fantastic since it’s part-time  and there are no benefits. Despite this I love what I do and I have one of the most worthwhile and rewarding positions there is.

The majority of staff are a very friendly, and supportive. 

Another reviewer said that we get three bonuses a year. This is incorrect we do not.

Weather plays a big part knowing you have valuable cargo.

The company has a great environment the management care about you and helps you anyway they can.

Everyday is new as the kids make the days.

The flexibility of hours in the day. It's great for when you are on disability.

Work environment is you pretty much on your own,  and with a team.

You get to pick up parents precious gems and take them to school and home.

Driving, and every one is friendly and helpful

Is making sure you keep all the kids safe , and that they arrive safe at school and home

It’s good some days the kids can be a bit much

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Quite in the morning… nice having the day to myself and pm run is always noisy and loud

the Bussing game has changed over the years, the personal touch is no longer, I have always enjoyed working with children, and this allowed me to be at home with my own children over the years. I love working with my co workers love being part of a great team. the hardest part has been to watch the changes happen and not being able to do any thing about it. The best part  would have to be working with the children.
