What is the best part of working at the company?
As a service technician you work unsupervised,with a company vehicle, that you are able to utilize to and from work,and can work at your own pace during the day.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Interacting with home owners and trying to meet their expectations.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is laid back and casual but still respectful 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Typical day starts at 7 am at the shop to load materials for the various service calls. On the road by 7:30 to fix and repair missing items, broken parts, scratches on doors etc. eat lunch on the go , take pictures of completed work and then upload the information to an app, using your phone, the tablet they provide you for that purpose is cheap and ineffective and takes way too long to load so you use your data without any compensation for it. Finish your list of service calls and clock out at 4 pm

The management is moody and favors some designers on over the others. They don't pay design commissions fairly. Although the company is big and rich you have to use your own car when you go to customers house or site and they don't pay you any mileage. Managers easily talking behind employees back and use inappropriate language and jokes. I worked for Laurysns Kitchens for almost five years but I did not get any rise or promotions. The work load is very high and most of the time you have to work extra hours at home even on weekends and holidays, and you wont get paid fairly for extra hours.
Their benefit plan is also very basic and you don't get much on medical or dental insurance.


Laurysen Kitchens was a good opportunity for me to gain understanding of the kitchen building/ manufacturing side of construction. The team at Laurysen were always ready to lend a hand and were easy to reach out to if I had any questions. I also felt comfortable working at Laurysen as I would see management team out on the floor helping get orders finished. Being in a work place where your management team is able to set a good example of work efforts really helped me appreciate the company.

My time working at Laurysen Kitchens was a very positive experience and I am glad to be given the opportunity to work there!

Not a good company to work for.Most of the jobs are for unskilled labourers which means minimum wage.The moral is very low.Labour codes are posted but never implemented. Management do not take employees concerns seriously. The owner uses intimidation.Not approachable at all.Do yourself a favour, dont apply for work at this company.You can make $14.00 an hour anywhere else with alot less stress.Its a dead end place to work.If you choose to work there you will see within a week you made a mistake.!!

The owner Bill Laurysen is a grumpy old man who is mean to everyone 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful to say the least. You are only a number there.

Laurysen is a manufactured cabinet shop that built kitchen cabinets on assembly lines with all the latest designs in the industry. Laurysen split up the work in sections everybody had there own station to work at. I gotten pretty fast on the assembly line and really enjoyed it. I learned how to use lots of new equipment I have never seen before.

A great employment opportunity for a person who has a great work ethic and wants to move up in a company.   Very respectful employers and management.  This opportunity has given me so many abilities that I would have never had in life.   I was employed in my early 20s  and  returned in my late 30s.  My reason for leaving was another opportunity that I could not refuse.   I would go back again.

Laurysen Kitchens as a family business has great leaders and an executive management team. It is a place that I go to work and enjoy myself while working hard. My work and office environment keep me excited and I do not feel the case of Mondays! Majority of my coworkers are amazing. The job is not stressful, and the pay is fair for the job that is asked.

Business is business and family is family, here you can't have one without the other. Excellent people to work for. During good times and bad, doors were always open with attentive ears inside. I genuinely miss working for these people and would go back in a heartbeat.

On an average day, no two days were the same. One day, I would be assisting on shipping, the next day, I would be assisting on sanding. I also assisted on a few other tasks like working on the final touches of cabinets, edge banding, and placing products in the required location after they have been painted or received
