I was part of a team of 8 and we processed all payment invoices (approximately 1000 weekly invoices) for the weekly cheque run for over 600 vendors. This included vendor set up, checking and matching costs, verifying accounts etc and of course running the weekly cheque run. I also spent 4-5 years working on another team. This was billing and invoicing entries of the gases from the plants to the customers. On both teams, I always enjoyed a great level of support from fellow team players. We bonded as a team and worked well together. During my first 15 years, I enjoyed the best management team one could ask for. Sadly, the culture of the organization changed quite drastically these past 5 years and so did management. Employees seemed to be un-important.
I learned so much. I was trained on different computer systems, different management styles and co-operation with all nation wide colleagues.
The hardest part of work, was the month end pressures, or even the weekly cheque run pressure. These were tasks that had to be completed within a specified time frame.
I enjoyed the warm atmosphere of working with other knowledgable peers.

The middle management of this company is completely lacking in leadership skills, accountability and responsibility. They will never accept responsibility for anything. They will always pass the buck. And you will never be rewarded or congratulated for anything you do. 

This company implemented an arbitrary COVID charge on all their customer bills over $20 because they claimed they were bleeding money so they needed to pass this on to their customers. That year they posted amazing financial results and gave the board record compensation packages. Oh!  And they cancelled all overtime for staff except drivers, understaff their facilities to the point of negligence and then chastise you for not getting all the work done. 

This company advertises incentive programs and then doesn’t come through. They advertised within the facility about a safety rewards program. Then the rewards were not doled out despite the safety record qualifying according to the stipulations of the program. 

In conclusion, this company is a nightmare to work for. Look elsewhere if you value your sanity. 

Bit of a mixed bag here at Linde. The office and those in charge of running the location were kind, efficient, and generally a pleasure to work with. Direct management in the warehouse would often micromanage and generally gave off negativity and stressful and contradictory instructions, which was common knowledge among the warehouse staff (and even customers/other businesses picking up would observe and note this). This led to a frequent turnover and dissatisfaction with the role amongst co-workers.

The pay was good for the skill of the role itself, and you were given the opportunity to interact with a variety of people when filling orders who were usually pleasant and friendly. The work itself could be rote and repetitive, and there was an element of corporate bureaucracy as the company is so large and multinational.

The hardest part of the job was the lack of variety in tasks and occasionally heavy physical demands in shoveling large quantities of dry ice.  Additionally, the warehouse was a bit run down and poorly maintained/cleaned.

If you're patient and okay with being micromanaged and repetitive work, the wage is pretty solid for an entry-level position within the company. 

Typical work day , 8-4 at shop , no mechanic , no maintenance schedule in place for equipment, reaction apposed to pro active , equipment is old and worn out .
I learned tolerance and behaviour issues between management and techs . Negative experience.

Culture is not healthy , current employees are very negative and a serious breach of personal information being shared by management staff , Also you have to work days off to make descent money .
Management doesn’t have the skills to move people up the ladder based on skill set , management surround themselves with there friends to pad themselves to manage there inability to be professional , leadership doesn’t exist so don’t expect any.
Hardest part of the job is realizing you will only get a cost of living raise and no raise based on experience or good work ethic .

Enjoyable part of the job , I have 16 yrs experience in the N2 world , this place was by far my worst experience in all of the years .


They will promise the world and talk so highly of themselves and the culture. But before the ink has a chance to dry it all changes. They will manipulate your hours, talk behind  employees backs. Make fun of customers after they've left the building.  They don't care about you 8or your families well being.  If you get hurt they don't want you to contact wsib and they definitely won't contact wsib themselves. If you like driving with a in cab camera be my guest. Will nit pick everything. Manager is one of the most condescending people I've ever meet. Very childish behavior in this location. Their way to deliver, track and load cylinders is 20 years behind air liquide and messer. Cylinder sizes make no sense. Pay is below industry standard. Always having truck problems. Can't keep drivers. Will lie straight to your face and won't blink. They don't see a problem sending you on a 10-12hr run at 9am or 10am or 11am or 12pm.

I have worked here for a decade, the first 8 years of my employment we were under a Praxair company. A merger fell in place and slashes, cuts, layoffs and less benefits fell in to place.

Profits at the happiness of their employees. 

A false sense of safety being the highest priority, until it costs money. 

In the healthcare division we have home service advisors who are on call, and receive an on call wage, on a fairly regular basis you will get a phone call while at home asking work related questions.

I’ve received pay raises basically every year, however they match inflation so I basically make the same as I did 10 years ago.

The merger killed what was good about this company. Now there is nothing

Little to no management, dispatcher trying to be a manager. Company is all about Safety, but never follows up with safety concerns. A day as a delivery driver is usually delivering Hospitial beds by yourself, including up and down staircases on second floors of homes.
(Supposed to be a 2 man job)
You are constantly questioned by the dispatcher many times throughout your day as to when you will be back to the office to get more work.
(Due to lack of enough drivers) you may only take your lunch break when there are no deliveries, if you do take a lunch it means you get home that much later in the evening.
You will be placed on a “on call “ every few weeks and will be answering phone calls most of the night after your 10-11 hour day as well as possibly going out at any hour of the night for a 3 hour tour to repair old equipment

For me, Linde was a good company at many aspects. I learned SAP and many other knowledge which enriched my experience. Linde has  multi-culture working environment in which the management all does their best to treat everyone equally. I am always grateful that I had chance to work at Linde for more than 5 years. 

However, the part of the management in Toronto office wasn't great. It was very discouraging when I worked among the people who didn't work hard. That, apparently, was an obstacle for a person who wanted to make advancement in the career. They set up the performance appraisal system but higher performed employee got the same as normal or not performed staff.

It took myself only 3 weeks with Linde to find out it’s not what you are told in the interview process. First let me start with the good, the pay isn’t bad, and the benefits and pension are pretty good, and you also get 4 on 3 off when they see fit to give you that schedule. Okay now the bad, management and HR will lie to you to get you in the door and then all what they told you during the hiring process is out the door. Also if physical work is not your thing, this is not where you want to be as you are hauling around cylinders all day weighing up to 100 pounds, and that in itself takes a toll on your body. And there is a lot of favouritism for those who work there and a lot of family that works along side each other, and if your not one of them you are and outcast and treated so much differently. 

Typical day at work, take customers call requesting for their certificate and add it to my to do list, calls for overcharge on their invoice I dispatch to another employee. I learned to update customer profile and and deleting contact name.I am a perfectionist and I learned that is not everything I can be perfect in, like sending certificate and it does not line up all the time. hardest part of my job is when I cannot get a hold of a manager and the customer do not want to leave a message and you cannot page, what I usually do to ask if I can put them on hold and physically deliver the message. The best part of my day is when I have to teach co-workers how to use Excel.
