Generally, support work is incredibly rewarding, under-respected, and underpaid. Depending on what house you work in and your case manager, it could be a pretty chill job or the most stressful job you have ever had. Some days, it will be both. You might be watching tv for hours with someone or you might be dodging a punch in the face. That said, it's never the people you work with that make this job brutal, it's the management. If you are a compassionate, caring person, you will probably end up doing more than you are paid to do. Case managers are overwhelmed and constantly drowning. This leaves support workers picking up the slack. There is a constant turnover of employees and understaffed, overworked schedulers. As a result, the company is absurdly disorganized and barely functional. Poor management and reliance on outdated positive behaviour support methods often result in the client's perspective being overlooked. Despite frequently repeating that "all behaviour has a cause", it seems that the company lacks the self reflection to see the connection between a revolving door of stressed, under-resourced employees, lack of trauma-informed person-centred planning and  "challenging behaviour".  You will be the person that takes all of the frustration and anger of the client. That said, every shift, you have the capacity to make someone's day a little bit better. 

tldr: Rewarding work but worthwhile only if you are absolutely desperate for a job. If you can't find ANYWHERE better to work, read the collective agreement, know your rights, and get a permanent position with enough hours to qualify for benefits. 

To be honest, LMSCL was another step in my career journey, but unfortunately, the management structure was the weakest I’ve experienced in my seven years in this field.

The organization claims to provide person-centred care, but in reality, there are no individualized daily activity plans tailored to clients. Their internal day program is poorly designed and does not reflect the needs or preferences of the clients—rather, it is structured for organizational convenience.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with allied health professionals such as behaviour therapists, occupational therapists, and ABA teams to deliver individualized and responsive care. LMSCL, however, showed little initiative in collaborating with these professionals or utilizing their expertise—likely due to a combination of organizational gaps and lack of knowledge.

My own program manager was a recent international graduate with minimal frontline experience. They lacked understanding of communication strategies, behavioural support plans, and client-centred care. Tasks were often delegated inappropriately to frontline workers, and there was minimal engagement with clients’ families—even open rejection of communication in some cases.

It’s disappointing, especially in a region that relies heavily on skilled immigrants, that management positions are not filled with more experienced or properly trained professionals. There is a genuine need for thoughtful hiring practices and accountability in leadership.

Health benefits were average or below average compared to other employers in the sector.

I am truly honored to share my experience with LMSCL, a remarkable care organization that has touched the lives of countless children and families. Their unwavering dedication to providing love,  support, and stability to those in need is truly inspiring. They understand the unique challenges these individuals face and provide comprehensive support tailored to their individual needs. I am deeply impressed by their compassion and commitment to making a positive difference in each individual lives .......

Useless management . No support..
They dont care the staff if something is wrong they will not conduct investigation instead blaming all to the staff...
All are spoon feeding client,management agrees to all their request and blame to staff once client made complaint. 
Management dont promote and practice independency
Very autocratic style of leadership 
Everyone is the boss in this organization..



No space for improvement. people are racist, mostly managerial level. They hire their own relatives or family members for the positions regardless if they have education or not. 
If they don't like you or you put a complaint, they will conduct a "investigation" but never really resolves the point and will always support their HR or managers. 
If scheduler don't like you, you won't get shifts

If you're assigned to a manageable and easygoing client, this can be a good place to work. I personally like the 12-hour shifts and the 3–4 day work week — the schedule works well for work-life balance. However, if you're placed with a more challenging or aggressive client, the job can become quite stressful and difficult to manage. Your overall experience really depends on your client assignment.

I love to take care of high risk clients. I am learning every single day at work. The management is supportive and nice to everyone. The hardest part is when the weather is not okay like heavy snow but you have to go to work and there's no busses. The most enjoyable part is when I get to finish my shift with no concerns.

The management doesn't have proper communication, not professional in talking to the staff, issues are unresolved and make it as an issue and will lead to have no shift.

The management is a mess, need to change the director and replace with a competitive one. All lies from the management are there. No professional growth in the company. Gossip are everywhere. The management humiliates workers infront of your colleague.
