Luminis Lighting

My summer internship at Luminis was an incredibly rewarding experience that exceeded my expectations on every level. From day one, I was welcomed into a collaborative and forward-thinking environment where innovation and continuous improvement were at the core of the company’s culture.

I had the opportunity to work alongside a team of talented professionals who were always willing to share their knowledge and offer support. The projects I was assigned allowed me to apply my academic background in a real-world setting, while also challenging me to develop new skills in areas like workflow optimization, data analysis, and Excel/VBA automation.

What stood out most was the trust Luminis placed in its interns. I was given meaningful responsibilities that directly contributed to ongoing operations and efficiency improvements. I never felt like “just an intern” - I felt like a valued member of the team.

Beyond the technical skills, Luminis offered a strong sense of community. From team lunches to company events, I always felt included and appreciated. It’s clear that Luminis values both professional development and employee well-being.

Overall, my internship at Luminis was an enriching and impactful journey that helped me grow both professionally and personally. I leave with a deeper understanding of the industry, a stronger skill set, and lasting connections that I truly value. I'm incredibly grateful for the experience and proud to have been part of such an inspiring team.


I work for Luminis and enjoy going to work each day. People are so friendly and always smiling. Happy staff and boss. If you want to learn something, Luminis is where you should start. And always remember, we are never too old to learn something. And it's never too late. We get lots of treats throughout the year. In Luminis, everyone can give their opinion and climb the ladder depending on how they want to work. Your hours are not less than 40 hours per week. Even if they don't have work, the boss finds something to figure out or do, and they are very flexible with you regarding time off.
What I like about Luminis the most is that if there's a lot of work to be done or shipping from the president, vice president, production manager, or supervisor all come out and give a helping hand and make our work lighter. I feel at home when I go to work. I am very comfortable asking questions and looking for answers. The engineering team is doing a great job, also especially since the new system they work with us hand in hand to figure out all the problems with paperwork. A big thumbs up to them for making my job easier.

This company is fantastic in terms of the products they manufacture and the people who actually assemble the products but it just about stops there in terms of positive. Starting with giving back to their employees, or employee appreciation there's none, you have your run of the mill "we had a fantastic quarter with profits in the millions pizza lunches". Bonus'! What are those?  Performance based raises'! What's that? Complaints are heard but never understood. You're micromanaged by a manager, who has no idea how to stick to a task. When ideas are brought up to help or improve work flow they're ignored.  Higher ups could care less about the employees inspite of the pep talks and family attitude. Which is pretty standard for any production job.  During my tenure several employees left solemnly due to a single manager. This is a place that seems great at first and slowly becomes a drain. To the production team at Luminis you are all amazing! For most if not all the rest. Please, do better. 

Unless you’re in the good books of
Management, respect and advancement is not possible. The severe leadership lacking here is uncanny, it’s like a daycare centre they treat employees like kids and pick and choose when they want to respect them. The salary is
Mediocre at best and the HR is non existent allowing things to happen that wouldn’t happen in a normal company. As long as you go along with the “I say, you do” mentality there’s nothing wrong and there’s no ambition to fix things let alone make them better.


Luminis is an outstanding company with a leadership team that is genuinely supportive and consistently cares about its people. The workplace culture is warm and friendly—like being part of a family. The company promotes a fantastic work-life balance and offers a flexible work environment. Its beautiful products, combined with a collaborative team spirit, contribute to strong year-over-year performance and growth. Its really feels great to work here. Not much pressure and sometimes even got chance to do overtime. I learned a lot of things here. They are ready to teach you all the required things for the job if are willing to learn. Really a fun place to work with nice people around.
