Typical Day included:

Processing daily customer payments
Counting and recording stock
Walking around the building to ensure that all the lockers were properly locked on rental units.
Cleaning as required (moved out units, washrooms, office)
Taking out garbage from office/storage area
Servicing customer needs whether they were purchasing moving materials or renting a storage unit.
Each day one floor of the building was either swept or mopped.
Elevator door openings had to be scrubbed with a toothbrush in order to make them spotless.

Hardest was the intense cleaning
Most enjoyable were the clients (most of whom were long term)

Great company and great head office but avoid all the drama upper management in Calgary creates.  Easy work with a variety of tasks.  They offer perks for following the proscribed sales agendas.  Good wage, benefits.  uniform provided, medical benefits, Christmas bonus and training.  The head office cares about you just upper management in the Calgary district has two faces so avoid any sharing of personal information.

From the top down, you can't trust a word anyone says. You are promised the moon and the stars but unless you follow up and hound them, and keep up the pressure they will not follow through. And if they do, you are penalized for demanding what they promised. 

Just NOPE! Don't do it!

Seems ok at first but then the truth comes out. Older Managers talk behind your back and undermine you. Upper management only interested in revenue, not staff needs, not clients. Distinctly one public face. One private face.

Its a good place to start out. You do a variety of things from customer service to sales to maintenence and cleanup. General staff and management are friendly and supportive but the pay is low.

I am a customer service solutions specialist. The environment, management system, people all are excellent. Excellent customer, good pay, career enhancement opportunities.

I worked for a short time at a busy Vancouver branch and the team was very supportive with a great dynamic. I would recommend working with MLSS just to work with the team.

Growth within the company . Everyone’s treated with respect and more like as a family.  Management’s passionate about the welfare of one another and it doesn’t feel like working at all in a day.

Once you are hired, low key, low stress work environment. Must be able to multi-task but job requirements are reasonable and fair. Staff and management work in harmony.

Living on site and being on call 24 hours a day if alarms sounded was quite difficult , however I did enjoy the day to day customer interaction.
