The 3 or 4 of us arrive at midnight and clock in to our thumb print scan/ pin number code time clock. We compile ourselves, make sure each of us knows what duties we have for the night, each grab a radio and check it before we move on. we work alone, or rarely in groups of 2, and work to be as efficient, diligent, studious and thorough as we can, duties include removing all visible stains from floor surfaces everywhere in the public sections of the mall. In the bathrooms, the floors, walls, mirrors, and stalls are cleaned; the toilets disinfected nightly. Garbage bags are changed out nightly, the decorative metal trash bins pressure washed bi monthly (or as needed), plastic trash bins are washed as needed. I try to make sure that I and each of my co-workers does a good job by the end of the night. My Duties as Lead hand are to fill in the daily log books and perform hourly radio crew checks in the absence of the shift supervisor, aswell as train new employees how to perform certain duties or operate certain machines. We use 3 auto-scrubbers of varying size, one push behind, one powered walk behind, and one ride-on. I work with a group of typical individuals, all of us have goals beyond where we are, and we move to realize our greater potential(s) outside of this particular workplace. My supervisor will eventually be promoted, but I feel this company, while a steadfast and reliable corporation, is not well enough aligned with my true goals and interests to afford me opportunities which I would wish to utilize. I would say the most difficult thing to deal with on a day to day or overall basis would be corporate bureaucracy, and by that, I mean the interactions of one corporation contracting or contracted to another corporation; and definitely the most enjoyable part of the job is the other members of the crew.

A day's work is from 11pm to 7am the following day. Work assignments are given in a briefing everyday before start of duty which usually takes 20-30 minutes. Based on assigned work for the night, materials and equipment are withdrawn from storage, then proceeds to work area.

Cleaning and waxing office areas doing 24/7 operation is very tricky and requires good customer relations as one has to balance between the need to do proper cleaning job and to provide sufficient walking/ working space to on duty personnel of the area.

Sufficient support is provided by management in terms of material and mechanical needs to complete the work and co-workers are very enthusiastic and motivated to do the assigned work on time.

The hardest part of the job is when even after a good work is finally completed but not everyone is pleased with the finished product.

The most enjoyable part of the job is knowing you have done your best and hearing good words from your superiors about it and receiving due recognition of one's accomplishment.

I feel that the job with marquise facilities was average. I handled the garbage detail and cleaning of the food court most of the time I worked there. I found the work to be monotonous after a while. cleaning the food court was the hardest part of the job. The most enjoyable part of the job was socializing with my co- workers. I also liked operating the floor machines during the stripping and waxing of the floors. I thought the employees could have been treated better by management and the wages could have been better. I didn't think their was much opportunity for advancement.

they do a thing called a "temperature check" each year when a person from head office comes and sits down with select employees. they promise the moon and never deliver. I tried to phone their hotline for complaints and they put me off and never did explain why they lied to us. We didn't like working for Marquise, staff was generally miserable and the hours were terrible. Compass Canada took them over a couple of years ago and they went downhill immediately. You are a number only with Marquise, not a person.

Very relaxed atmosphere and family orientated, I learned how to clean efficiently and help others. Co-workers were nice but sometimes they didn't speak English so it was uncomfortable at times, The management was friendly but I never saw them much! The hardest part of the job was to be accepted and treated fairly and not to have favoutism!

On going training, best practices, regular visits from Operations Managers. Great company to work for. A supportive head office. Yes you work hard but they are not slave drivers. The emphasis is on Customer Service Excellence and if you think along those lines you could not get a better company to work for!

As an operations manager I worked my own schedule. I was responsible for several sites over Southern Alberta. My main responsibility was to work closely with my site managers and site ownership to ensure that our contracted duties were being completed as demanded.

they have excellent management.my co-workers are very nice and we have a good friend relationship.

What I have to say, is the with Marquise Facilities is hard job, because it's a walking job all over the day from this area to another.
Sometimes the distance between them is so big.
