Overall a good place to work, most foreman are good and actually listen when presenting a problem. Management is management its the same as anywhere else( ex: disconnect between field and office) but still tolerable. Benefits are decent but not the best  but a lot better than others. some of there safe work practices make life a lot harder than it needs to be but at the same time they are there for a reason. The biggest negative Id say is that they are a very production driven company which means at the end of the day you have to fill out a daily production sheet which is incredibly annoying, especially if you don"t have the best day. Biggest positive is unlike a lot of companies they value labor over cost of material which translates to if there is a specific tool or item that will make a task easier and more efficient they will get it.

I have never worked for a company that actually cared about its workers like MCL cared about us. They have an excellent safety standard that's hard to find in the trades. I learned more from this company than I did my entire apprenticeship at Canem systems. Organized. Clean. Low waste on materials. Part of a team. Not just a number.

Thoroughly enjoyed working here.  Coworkers were friendly and willing to help out.  Pay was at the top end of the scale for the industry and job.  Benefits and RRSP contributions (both employer and employee).  The downside was that once you were placed in a specific job (e.g. inventory), you stayed there and didn't learn much in other areas of the job.

A typical day at work included working with fun employees and nice management.  The different jobs I was part of were a great opportunity to learn. The most enjoyable part was being part of such interesting jobs.

Worked with MCL at the airport for the first 10 months on nights doing the fire alarm upgrade. very well run and very organized.
Then moved to the federal building downtown to work on the renovation, worst run job ever couldn't get out of there fast enough!

They have every type at this place. from guys spending a hour a day cutting up scrap feeders and packing it out in tool bags every brake to others claiming work you have done on the cards they submit while doing almost nothing them self all day.

Just like any other large company. Their pay is good, but there is the problem of lifers really bringing down the moral and productivity. Not great if you want to learn new skills, but great if you are just looking for a consistent paycheck for a few months.

Good benefits and pretty good work environment when you are on the right site. Keep you working but if work gets slow expect to be laid off pretty quick because you are just a number to them. All in all would recommend working for them.

Enjoyed working for MCL, especially at the grant mac extension project. Good management and good communication. During the end of Grant mac project, company faced shortage of work (3 wage drops) and major layoff.

MCL is a great place to work, they treat you like family and are always there for you. It's very systematic which is very organized and structure is next level.
