Your day starts with a meeting that generally runs way longer than it needs to. Then you need to play Tetris with the work vans in the vehicle bay as there's a combination of broken down junkers and the owner's "luxury" cars taking up space. Then you go about your day and hopefully you have enough co-workers to actually meet any goals. Also, in regards to co-workers, you can expect to to work with temps a lot (you will also be expected to provide tools for them).

As for on-call, you will be micromanaged by people who haven't ever stepped foot in the field who never miss an opportunity to make you feel less than. You will also more than likely be by yourself. 18 unit flood? You will be responding by yourself and called out for even the most miniscule mistakes.

Management was non-existent. We were told to do our thing and then chastised for doing just that. I worked for the company for over a year before any kind of list of expectations was even drafted. 

Workplace culture is very much us vs. them. Ownership makes shortsighted policies (ie, solo on call) and when they fail (which happens regularly) you will be held accountable. This is a big part of why most employees rarely last longer than 3 months, often leaving without notice.

Hardest part of this job? The constant uphill battle and the lack of appreciation. Missing deadlines because you have to train a new team of temps each and every day. 

Most enjoyable part of the job? Handing in your notice or deciding that not go to work.

Do yourself a favor and work for any other restoration company, this one is a waste of time and effort.


A typical day at work as an emergency dispatcher is always different, which keeps the job interesting and helps you learn something new every day. I have learned how to stay calm under pressure, improve communication skills, and handle challenging situations quickly and professionally. Management is supportive and helpful, and the workplace culture is respectful and team-oriented. My coworkers are supportive, professional, and always willing to help each other when needed. The hardest part of the job can be dealing with difficult clients who may not immediately trust our experience or recommendations during stressful situations. The most enjoyable part is working with a great team and being able to help people during emergencies while continuing to learn from different challenges every day.

A typical day as a Project Manager Assistant at MDR Services is fast-paced and requires strong multitasking skills. My responsibilities included coordinating schedules, booking sub-trades, communicating with clients, 
 and supporting other departments and project managers to keep jobs moving efficiently. I learned a lot about project coordination, customer service, time management, and working under pressure in the restoration industry. Management was supportive overall and the workplace culture emphasized teamwork and adaptability. The hardest part of the job was balancing urgent requests and changing priorities, especially during emergencies. The most enjoyable part was the variety in the workday, problem-solving, and being part of a team that helped clients during stressful situations. 

I have been with MDR for nearly 10 years. I started as a customer service rep / receptionist and with the help, training and support that the owner and management provided I was able to work my way into my current position in upper management. The industry is fast paced and always changing, it's challenging and engaging work. Over the last few years the management has specifically cultivated a culture of teamwork, camaraderie, and a focus on providing nothing but the best service. This has resulted in a great team of people who always have each other's backs. The management places a high value on good character and loyalty, taking care of their loyal employees far above and beyond the call of duty. With the team's support I have grown both personally and professionally in my time with MDR and I know that there is no where else that would be so invested in and take such good care of me and family.

What I like about the company is that when you get hired on, You know what is expected of you , The management is patient, fair and accommodating. But not everyone is a fit with the company ,so they will weed out people that are bad for the Culture of the Company. If you do your job they reward you in different ways, as well they compliment you in public and work through any struggles in private. Mostly anyone that leaves here wasn't doing their job or their character did not fit with the company. There are lots of staff that have been here for many years, and you know why, after working with them. Come join the Team.

We worked on site taking care of customer flood & fire emergencies & rebuilds.  This company does so much more than just customer service.  They're good at that and the team of techs and PM's were great to work with.  They also really care about the world and live to 'give back'.  We went on a trip to Haiti and built a school on a mountain top so 250 kids who didn't have access to a school could get an education.  It was an experience of a life-time!  Another team went to Nicaragua to work at a feeding center.  They pretty much shut everything down for a week just to take care of needs in 3rd world and developing nations.
They care about their staff and their work in the same way as they care about the rest of the world - with open arms and diligence.

Great company to work for with good people all around. The owner and team genuinely care about helping customers and doing quality work. The work environment is supportive, and everyone is willing to help each other out when needed. It’s a fast-paced industry, but the team works hard together and treats each other with respect. Overall, a positive place to work with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.

This company has been one of the worst restoration companies I've ever worked for they have an inexperienced crew with 0 direction or guidance. Only two ppl work in the field besides me and they are both on call 50% of the month each. Over worked, under appricated. There is no emergency service manager no emergency project managers almost no management when it comes to Restoration or asbestos. Guidelines are often broken to benefit the company at the detriment of the employee. Their most senior senior tech has been there for a month. Very high turn over with almost a Complete Staffing exchange every two months

What is the best part of working at the company?
MDR Services is a local family orientated business that I have had the privilege to work at for the past 8 years.   You know everyone by name here, and your just not another face in the hallways.  I enjoy coming to work every day, and can't imagine working anywhere else!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with that 1 angry client that you can not please.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very friendly and fun environment to work.  Mixing in a bit of fun/humor with the job.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Communication and scheduling tasks.  Management of workers and staff.

As a contract part time worker for a 6 month time period I enjoyed working for MDR.  I found the work challenging enough to not be bored but not so hard as to be stressful.  I appreciated that I was never micro-managed but that there was always someone available should I need help with something. 

Management was very respectful of any personal needs I had and very supportive of my family life. Even on such a short contract, I still felt like part of the family and enjoyed my time there.  It's rare to find a place that is lead by a LEADER and not run by a BOSS.  If you're looking for a quality company that still has integrity, respect and morals then MDR is a good fit!
