Bad place to work, most of the people on the floor look like they can't take much more. They laugh about it, but deep down change is needed minimum wage jobs.There is no union, but make you believe they are somewhat unionized, if you don't do overtime, they will fire you and say you don't fit in here. If you already worked for them and got fired, they don't give second chances. And will give you a bad reputation, to others. Worst mistake of my life to work in this facility, but i have a tendency to try everything even if i heard about rumors that this place was a slave factory, the rumors were indeed true. Terrible company, not family related low wage income for people on the floor the actual people doing the hard work, not sitting in some comfy chair browsing the internet, while the managers and director make all the big money, they miss treat employee with unsafe conduct and terrible safety regulations they don't even follow.
Be careful to work here your doing your career harm. Before it used to be run by a good hearted person, but they fired him. They will not give any good reason to fire you even if your work was flawless and fast and you never made a mistake. They will mess with your hours and treat you like dirt, if you need safety equipment they will not supply you, but tell you that you must get the job done, or else "what is the point of you being here". Management people are rude and think of themselves to be better, while your doing all the hard labor, they don't care for their employees health and even when injured with a fracture. They make employees work on ladders with no safety, run hydraulic pressure test without warning others in the area about the extreme high pressure test. They don't use drawings unless they forget about the actual setup because they want it done fast and using drawings slows the process. They are careless and dangerous, and punish new hires with no respect no matter how much experience. Very low wages and rotational shifts messes with family life but the director is at home having a great time with their family. This is a review of the company and anyone who works here will see the same thing.
They will reply something in the lines of we are mhica a great family oriented owned company.

MHICA provides a stimulating work environment, with compelling job tasks. Young, technically sound job-seekers have the ability to build a skill set to help bolster their careers, whether within MHICA, or for future opportunities.
Management regularly finds ways to 'give back' to the work force, whether offering gift cards for ALL employees during the Xmas season, offering adjusted work schedules in the summer months, and through employee recognition in their weekly magazine, SOAR. For example, in each of the years I worked for MHICA, each employee (over 700) was awarded a gift card, with a substantial amount, to use over the holidays. It was a kind gesture, and resonated with the work force.
The job was difficult, at times, but that is the nature of manufacturing; ebbs and flows, that being said, the work was very rewarding. Good work was always recognized, and strong performers were nurtured and developed.
The hardest part of the job was the decision to move on. I was able to spend my working hours with friends, everyone knew each other, and handshakes, and sometimes hugs, were the way we greeted one another, even in the most difficult times.
I offer the highest recommendation to MHICA as a place to learn and grow.

Looks can be deceiving. Initially it looks like a decent place. It gets worse with time. There aren't many good manufacturing jobs, let alone aerospace jobs. So the mediocre pay and benefits are acceptable. Good place if you're unemployed. Bad place for skilled senior employees. The incompetent management is not interested in your input unless it enhances their agenda. They'd rather fix the same rejections continuously than spend the money to resolve the problem. They're not interest in improving their inefficient manufacturing processes. The old saying goes "they throw nickels around like manhole covers". Senior management is putting in time until retirement. Their jobs revolve around pleasing the Japanese to put in their time. Unfortunately my stay was shorter than I'd initially planned. Let go due to restructuring. They were replacing senior workers with lower pay less vocal employees. Fortunately I was able to retire. Thank you MHI. You gave me something that you can't buy. TIME!

The company is new to North America and hence the work systems are under regular modifications. The facility is well -organised and the Top management is doing awesome job.  The pay rate is  higher than industry average.  There is good work-life balancing initiative.

There is fluctuation in sales and hence  your hours may not be steady.The company has not yet adopted Japanese culture of professionalism and  quality concepts and Error proofing methods are missing to prevent recurrence. HR department has minimal role except for forwarding emails and conducting meaningless events. Supervisors have neither  technical  skill nor human skill. Network systems are obsolete. Working environment has  no cooperative attitude. This is not a Learning organisation as people look for others mistakes and there is no  Training  department. There is low growth prospects to talented people.

At first glance MHICA looks like a great place to work, but the truth is quit the opposite. The toolroom equipment is barely adequate for the work you're asked to do. When I started there, I was told that it would be neccessary to work extended hours and weekends when it was needed. What they didn't tell me, is that it was needed every week! I worked 21 and 28 days in a row at times and Sundays are paid at straight time! That's right!!! Not even time and a half for a Sunday. The tooling manager even said to me one time that if I didn't come in on the weekend, his job would be on the line. This is the type of culture that exists at MHICA. When I voiced my concerns about the work environment, I was "restructured" out the door after working excessive hours whenever I was asked.

MHICA claims to be a "family" oriented culture, but this couldn't be further from the truth.

I've worked in large companies, much larger than MHICA.....AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

The 16-month internship was an amazing opportunity. I learned about the "back-end" of product launches, project kick-offs, project approval/rejection criteria and much more. The only thing is, I would not go into a Program Manager position as a new graduate. There is just too much responsibility on someone who knows virtually nothing compared to people he should be challenging. 

Work environment was amazing. My team and manager were always there when I needed answers. Whenever I faced any sort of difficulties, I mean ANY, someone was there to help. Cross-disciplinary communication was very respectful - no one made me feel as if I was out of place in a meeting. The team also pushed me to lead a number of projects, albeit small ones for obvious reasons. I was also, however, invited to play integral parts in big projects as well under the supervision of a P. Eng.

All in all, I learned a lot and would definitely recommend to anyone who is on the fence about joining.  

My regular day at MHI would evolve handling multiple duties at same time which will include dealing with customers complaints, Internal quality issues, Delivery documents, managing configuration management team and other different ongoing projects.
Management is really supportive and provides you with all the tools, support/training required to perform your job efficiently. Same goes for other departments such methods, Procurement and operations. All departments work in harmony to give best result. For me,  learning different things by doing multiple tasks and supporting multiple projects brought me joy. I enjoyed that fast pace working environment which might be different for others. 
      

Work my a** off for this place and still get pooped on here and there. Also new hires have a hard time actually getting your promised raises. Anything they can get on you to not get it they will use against you. Most workers are very nice. On the good note managers and team leads treat you with respect almost all of the time and there is always overtime work needed. Not a bad place to start a career. It is very family based. Salary is unfair in terms of distribution, depending on the area you get put jimbob could be sitting chillin in a chair all day drilling holes while bobbyjim is running around trying to keep up with work yet both are being payed the same wage.

If you are friends with the lead hand or the supervisor get ready to grunt work. Managers tell you not to cut corners and if you dont youll be slow. Better hog the good tools or youll be stuck with the bad ones taking longer. If youre not fast itll be made clear. We had a guy we nicknamed "netflix and drill." you guessed it, he was lead hands friend.
If supervisor likes you he wont let you move to another department. So, you'll be stuck with the same grunt work day in day out. You can ask to be switched to a task that doesn't require kneeling all day everyday but the lead's friends wont like that too much. 

If you're into hard labor and comfortable with power tools then MHICA might be said place for you. Honestly the experience and training I've received here has made me a more confident person.

I should not leave out that you will need a bit of a backbone to work here because some of your engagements with colleagues can get you overworked and stressed.

Everyday is an improvement from the previous when it comes to MHICA and there are always new lessons for a newbie like myself to learn.
