This company has gone through numerous incarnations and is still competing. Communication with Transcriptionist could be improved. Account specifics are often contradictory and unclear. Newer transcriptionist are promoted too quickly and lack the maturity and experience for QA positions, leading to staff being told they are making mistakes when they are actually following account specifics accurately. There should be some bonus for accuracy and longevity by longtime transcriptionists.  I worked with this company for 15 years. Following the initiation of First Time Right regulations, I did not need to submit notes for corrections for over a year, but this accuracy is ignored. It should be rewarded. I became ill in 2012 and my production dropped below contract minimums. Instead of allowing me to stay working, I was told not to worry about my production and to take a break. Then, I was let go for not meeting my contracted minutes. There was no warning or communication. I was just dumped, in spite of the fact that I only took 2 vacations in 15 years and when I worked with the UHN account, I often produced numbers that exceeded my minimums. I felt that after all those years and maintaining an excellent standard of work accuracy, they could have given me the chance to come back to work and increase my production as my health improved. I am using medications similar to chemotherapy.  Also, I knew longtime workers who were denied very small raises and we're receiving the same pay as new MTS who had just graduated and had very low typing speeds. This is one example of how longevity with a company should be rewarded. I was denied a 5 cent/minute raise to 70 cents/min., even though I had much greater experience and higher work quality. That is demeaning for a worker and is very bad for morale. Emails should be sent to congratulate and not just to complain about account balances. Many people who regularly meet their quotas also receive the complaints. That should not happen or the email should contain a waiver saying to disregard it if your production is on track.

This was my first work from home position and I found it strange to be hired from a company in Ontario, while I live in New Brunswick, and my account was in British Columbia. With the 4 hour time difference there were certain times that made it difficult to work. Our hours were optional for us, we chose the hours we worked, as long as we worked the required amount of hours each week. It was an interesting position - I overall enjoyed the position. It was very challenging at times, including a lot of research.

The only upside of working in this job (I wont even call it a career) is that you can have a flexible work schedule. The pay is far below what minimum wage is in Canada, not nearly enough to survive on. Management do not care about any of the employees. When I ask about any room for job growth or pay increase it gets ignored.  Awful interpersonal communication as I get ignored half the time unless it's management complaining about something. Been working here for 4 years and no different than day 1, when I can find a better replacement I will be running as far away from this company and job as possible. What a joke!

I have been working at MModal for over a year now and I think it is a great company to work for.  I get to work from home and set my own hours and my supervisors are approachable and always available. I think this is a great company and would recommend it to anyone, provided they are interested in the medical field.

I did get an increment after the 1st year as I have a very high level of accuracy.

Pretty much self-described.  Work as much as you want; when work is available.  Mostly create your own hours.  No paid holidays or benefits; salary not based on experience.  Occasionally run out of work.

A great job to work from home if you are just supplementing your income.   You will rarely make enough to survive on.   The management is attentive and help.   There are groups out there for co-workers to discuss and get help.   Must be highly motivated to work independently.   I love being able to work from home and be here for my kids.

Best company to work for and has the best editor to work with that comes equipped with the best tools of technology.  Best Editor with security in mind user friendly with any antivirus software.

Very good communication.  Efficient Structure.  Excellent Platform.  Typical work day is long to achieve monetary goal.  No performance and/or pay review.  Multispecialty reports, learn much about terminology.

challenging to learn the platform without anyone to guide you when you run into problems or have questions. Every report standards felt to always have different acceptable standards despite using job standard supplied at start

If you're okay for working your *** off for a $200 or less paycheck then be my guest! Management is rude. Pay is so awful that I can't even believe it's legal.
